I like it. I don’t get the hate I’m seeing for it. Aroma is a bit muted, but the proper Rye, sweet wheat, and citrus notes are there. The taste is extremely smooth. Sweet rye, biscuity malt, citrus... classic farmhouse notes. FInish is slightly bitter, but mostly just sweet rye and citrus. This beer hides the ABV really well too. It’s smooth, balanced, and damn good.

Bottle at Freakin Frog. Retired? Ok. We drank a retired beer. Saison? Didn’t taste like a saison. I got cloudy orange slightly tart. Rye?

22oz bomber...stored in the closet a little too long I’d wager. Unfiltered cloudy orange-tan. Massive gushing head when poured..leads me to think infection. One of the worst beers I’ve ever had from California, garbage aroma, and gross rye-saison mix. Flat out bad, this is a waste of good ingredients, a truly awful end product.

Clear amber, some visible carbonation, off-white finger of rocky foam with low retention. Moderate lacing.Sweet malts, slightly metallic hop notes. Bit of alcohol and yeast. Bready malts up front, backed by a drying, bitter hops aftertaste. Moderate carbonation, light-to-medium body. Saison, kind of. Ale, sure. Rye? Maybe. Falls short on all three, though.

22oz bottle. Large off-white head, lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, bread/caramel, some lemon/straw, rye, light orange. Taste is moderately sweet, orange/lemon, light rye, straw, bread, alcohol warming. Medium body, light effervescence.

22oz bottle. The pour was a cloudy amber orange with an average (1-2 finger) white creamy head that slowly receded, down to a thin film with a small collar and possessed very good streaky lacing. The aroma was of a light bread malt and a musty Belgian yeast with notes of apple, pears, rye, a mild peppery spice and a slight tartness. The taste was lightly sweet with a mild tartness and a nice fruity presence from the start, and then became rather yeasty with a mild taste of rye and a slightly spicy ending. The flavor lasted an average duration after the swallow, with a lightly tart spicy taste left hanging on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was a bit past light in body and watery in texture with a nice lively carbonation. Overall this is a brew with a very interesting taste. Not exactly sure what to think of it, but I do know it is rather tasty and really grows on you the more you drink...

Nice looking beer in appearance rivals Belgium farmhouse ales. Not to fragrant, but packs a mouthful of wonderful taste, and packs a punch with it's 8% abv. Nice clean neutral rye taste, a nice respite from my usual ipa fare. Highly recommend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pretty average pour here ... light, almost-golden amber with a slight haze and a thin white head. Not much to discern in the initial whiff either ... maybe a light floral perfume. The beer drinks with a mellow farmhousey thing, barely noticeable. It finishes with a sweet, fruity edge. Even-keeled, mellow drinker. If it’s really 8% it hides it exceptionally well. Be careful! Bomber from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. A bit of a gusher. Pours a clear amber color with a thin fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of spicy rye, apple, earth, bread and a near metallic note. The taste is rye, tea, apples, pale malts, faint caramel. Medium bodied. Weird one. Neither good nor bad. Just weird.

From a bottle poured a straw color with a small amount of head. Bitter hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a orange tint and a thinnish off-white head, about only a centimetre tall. Aroma of alcohol, yeast, coriander seed, curacao and a bit of rye - not much though. Medium-bodied; Assertive yeast and a good amount of coriander seed and lemon and orange rinds. Aftertaste is fairly mild with the yeast and malt coming through but not much of anything else. A touch of sugars at the end with a hint of bitterness. Overall, an acceptable beer - but nothing sublime and with a few good tastes, nice, but not as complex as I was expecting. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Super Jr Market (BestDamnBeer Shop) in San Diego, California on 06-May-2012 for US$6.49 sampled at home in Washington on 05-July-2012.
