COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Simtra Triple IPA delivers a punch in the face with its very danky hop aroma derived from Simcoe and Citra hops. You wanted more hops you got them.

A clear golden colored beer, with a thick foamy white head. The aroma of malt with fruits like citrus with nettle. There are a lot of hops. The taste of sweet fruits, sparkling, with hop bitter and notes of spices. The aftertaste is a little sweet with bitter hops.

New brewery to Ohio. I had their Hop Shortage and was impressed. Simtra was outstanding. Flavor explodes. Definitely not a session beer, but a very satisfying sipper. I wouldn’t call it balanced - the hops definitely win, but still enough malt backbone to make it very enjoyable. If you like high IBUs, seek this one out.

(22oz bottle thanks to John boots) clear amber, fine tan bubbles. Nose is very citrus pulp forward, dank, sweaty, peach, light onion, caramel. Taste of bitter citrus peel and oils, grapefruit zest, bitter finish, creamy.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a smaller sized off white head. The aroma has a big grapefruit citrus burst with additional resiny hops and sweeter caramel malts. The flavor is more grapefruit resiny hops, orange zest, grass, with enough caramel malt to not have this be completely one dimensional. Some toasted malt at the back. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Well worth a try.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thick off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, grassiness and malt. Malty flavor with nice orange character, along with some grapfruit bitterness before a dank, grassy finish. Very impressive.

Bomber from Palm Springs. Golden amber in color upon pouring. Minimal head. Super pungent nose with skunk and a little sweetness. Some tropical aromas. Highly hopped with a nice dry spicy bite. Smooth and well balanced. Very clean easy sipping up front. Sharp spiced hoppiness on the back end. Maybe a hint of alcohol in the finish as well. Rich and full like a big bold Belgian, only it’s a highly hopped IPA.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2014 Rerate: Dark copper color with small white head and little lacing- thick and oily. Aroma is resinous, some tropical fruits, pinches the nose like a bit of gasoline. Flavor is very bitter, lots of earthy vegetable, and syrupy candy malt finish. Big hop bomb. Full body, big alcohol presence- pretty intense. Very different from my first experience 6 months ago, and still good, but not what I remember and not what I expected.

11/16/2012: (10)(3)(8)(4)( Amber color with very small diminishing white head. Oily on the glass with no lacing. Aroma is Fantastic- huge huge fruity & floral hops! Amazing fruity hop flavor with an intense grapefruity bitter finish. Best $9 bomber I’ve probably ever had- puts Hoppin Frog’s $14 Hop Dam to shame...

Borefts warm up -bottle in the Hotel. Clear gold - amber beer. Good white head. Palate is light, minerally fresh and a little dry. Massive Citra hops! Hurrah! Somewhat skunky but with a big big orange and tangerine full on fruity freshness. Finish is semi dry with a little aniseed alcohol noticeable but this is a very drinkable beast of an IPA. Lovely!

Orange with a large white head. Aroma is candied sweet malts, grapefruit, tropical citrus fruit, orange. Medium to full mouth. Flavor had plenty of fresh, tropical citrus notes, candied malt, grapefruit, and light lemon. Powerful and full of citrus hops. What a tasty way to celebrate the election.

Bottle I brought to Frank’s Oct 2012. Pours a deep amber body with white lacing. Aroma is bitter citrus, citric hops, bread and caramel malts. Smells a bit stale, but still decent hop aroma present. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet citrus fruits, citric hops, light pine and lots of sweet, bready malts. I need a fresh bottle of this.
