Bottle... Poured pale golden with a nice forming white head. Nose of intense hop notes. Quite fresh and green. Citrus and musk and earth from the hops. Borderline sweat (in a good way). Nice bitterness yet balanced. Grassy, bitter, resinous hops shine here. Easy drinking even for the higher abc.

650 ml bottle. 11.25 ABV.

Pours a copper amber colour with small white head. Aroma of strong Citra hops, caramel and some herbal notes. Flavour of strong Citra hops, heavy caramel, herbs, nuts and grass. Delicious flavour. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long, lingering bitter finish with strong citrusy Citra hops, caramel and some grass. Overall a delicious DIPA with strong bitterness.

Pours a bright orange with a foamy one finger off white head which fades to nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus (tangerine, grapefruit, and orange) pine resin, tropical fruits (pineapple and mango), some grass, and some sweet malts. Taste is similar with a lot of citrus, pine, and tropical fruits, but does not taste as fresh as the Plineys, and has a little alcohol in the finish as it warms. Has a medium-full body with a creamy, oily mouthfeel. and a semi, bitter, dry finish. overall, a very nice DIPA that is just below the elite of the style.

22oz bottle, $11.99, no date from OB Quik Stop--hopefully this is a new batch, and not just leftovers from the distributor. We shall see. Clear medium orange with a one finger off-white head, fair retention. Aroma of bitter orange rind and cat pee, light lemon (not in the Sorachi Ace way, but the Citra) and herbal dry hops. There is a little crystal malt in the backend, but doesn’t seem sweet. I don’t get much pine in the aroma, but it does come forth more in the flavor. I get some alcohol warmth and spice, mild sweetness and lightly toasty cracker malt. Dry finish, bitterness peaked at a 7, the alcohol numbing the tongue. Big full body, though not yet syrupy, with low to moderate carbonation. Better than I thought it’d be--the hops aren’t quite super bright and juicy (though close), but the sweetness is right where it should be for a >10% beer.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Clear golden copper. An off white ring. A funky hoppy nose. Both of the hops are tasted and compliment. They are fresh and tasty. Softer malt and gentle bitterness. Mthis is a winner.
