Simtra Triple IPA delivers a punch in the face with its very danky hop aroma derived from Simcoe and Citra hops. You wanted more hops you got them.

22 oz. bomber dated 6/4/13. Pours deep amber with a thick, off-white, two-finger head that dissipates to a nice foam cap. Great lacing. Pure hop aroma - pine resin and grapefruit rind. Bitter up front, as one would expect from a beef billed as a triple IPA. Nicely balance, however, not bitter for bitters sake like too many west-coast Imperial IPAs. Bitter on the back end as well, finishes slightly dry with a little heat from the 11.5 ABV. A full bodied, slick mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Overall, a well crafted triple IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[ As Knee Deep Simtra Triple IPA ].
Clear medium yellow orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, fruity hops. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long long duration, pine, pine cones, peppery - spicy hops, hoppy, resin notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bomber from waterboy, thanks Ric! . Shared with ck1 on Spit Cup weekend. Pours a clear orangey-yellow. Aroma has sweet fruits, citrus, pine, heavy syrup. Taste is of sweet fruit citrus and pine. Some garlic. Heavy spiced tang. Finishes sweet and bitter garlic. Lotta stuff here, with a lot of weight. 14.6

I love this beer! Drinks so easy to be high alcohol. I don’t find the alcohol to be overpowering as some have said because when it’s fresh you really can taste citrusy pears and piney apples! one of my favorites.

Surprisingly good. You can’t hide the alcohol at 11+% but the simcoe balances it well. Not too sweet and some nice citra flavor. Well executed triple IPA.

Bottle. Hazy caramel with thick creamy head. Smells very thick and caramelly with some grappa and some white pepper- perfumey over all. Very sweet then better. Heavy.

Poured from bottle to Glass. Clear Amber hue with creamy white head that held a ring. Aroma is huge papaya, melon, tangerine, grapefruit, citrus oil, caramel, ethanol. Mouthfeel is great with a full body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet with a great hop bitterness following and a warm ethanol finish. Overall this brew is fantastic.

It’s pungent, intense hoppy aroma, but also lots of alcohol, so there’s a chemical burn to the smell. Taste is great, sweet and bitter, intense.
