COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Simtra Triple IPA delivers a punch in the face with its very danky hop aroma derived from Simcoe and Citra hops. You wanted more hops you got them.

Thereís a reason this toppled Younger at the SF Beer Week DIPA festival... itís better. Aroma, appearance, taste, palate... everything is fucking perfect. This beer reigns supreme among all Triple IPAs.

Bottle from Nugget. Excellent double IPA. Burts with citrus, fruity hops. Bitter, but doesnt linger. I will be searching this out.

This beer is quite simply the very best IPA...in the world. The aroma smacks you in the face - huge citrusy, piney, sweet aroma. The smell might honestly be the best part. Iíve been known to just keep sniffing the bottle after Iím done drinking, like a crazy person. For such as strong beer (10%+) it is eminently quaffable and medium-bodied. This is not a syrupy, barleywine-ish IPA, it is a bright, refreshing ale that just happens to have a monstrous alcohol content. Just a gorgeous, perfect beer. Better than either Pliny (both of which are top 10 for me), this would be the one beer I would drink if I had to drink only one for the rest of my life.

Lightly hazy orange with big, foamy, white head / Bright nose of weed, earth, and citrus / Medium to full body, creamy, some sweetness, big fruit matched by moderately biting hops, and fine bitter finish / Flavors of orange peel, cream, weed, fresh cut pine, candied sugar, soap, and grapefruit / A perfect double.

Very similar to PTY. I know. I just had the PTY 2014 release a day ago and had a Simtra afterwards. My wife and friend also agreed. If anyone wants to know what PTY tastes like, get this beer now.

This is an imperial IPA that I would love to get my hands on year round. I havent been "wowed" by a DIPA in a long time and this is one of those that brought a great smile to my face.

Aromas of resin pine & citrus right away when opened. Pours a deep red/orange clear with good carbonation. Head is white and firm long lasting. The flavors are intense hoppy up front with a smooth bread yeast & malt backup. A truly wonderful beer for a hophead like me.The alcohol could be toned down a bit Reminds me of Pliny the Younger from a few years ago.

Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber. Pours a slightly hazy medium orange with a half finger white head. Considering the abv, the head retention and lacing are spectacular. HUGE hit of hops on the nose. Tons of tropical fruit from the Simcoe and Citra hops. There is a touch of caramel underneath along with overripe fruit. There is some dank too. All around, it is one of the best aromas I have ever experienced on a IIPA. The flavor continues the hops assault with overripe fruit, orange marmalade, and sweet caramel. Mango and orange dominate the fruity aspect and there is a little less dankness compared to the aroma. Vanilla and caramel undertones along with a very assertive bitterness that is necessary to balance out the malt sweetness. Alcohol is nearly completely hidden providing a pleasant warmth in the throat and chest. Quite impressive. Mouthfeel is just slightly sticky. Overall, one of the best IIPAís out there. I put this up with Hopslam as being the best IIPA available on the market. Incredible balance and tons of flavor combined with a big punch from the alcohol. A beer to seek out and pick up lots of.

Honestly one of the best, "big" IPAs you'll find out there. Very crisp with tons of citrus to wake you up. This is one that you really must drink within the first couple of weeks of bottling otherwise you'll get an entirely different, much less enjoyable, beer. --- Save the unicorns!
