3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle
I am not sure why but this release did not resonate with me at all. It was a fair deal - enough that I am willing to try more of their lineup - but not remarkable. Given the choice I would gone with a four pack of Headhunter instead. Still, maybe it was a bad bottle which means eventually I will need to revisit it.
Aroma / Appearance - The coppery transparent base bubbles and sparkles. An icy white head looks like a fresh dusting of overnight snow. Pine cones, mangoes, grapefruit, and other flavors are sharp. Even so I somehow found it hard to get excited. It wasnít off but I canít put my finger on the reason.
Flavor / Palate - Mangoes and pine trees warm the throat immediately. A dry bitterness is harsh on the palate. For $6.99 this is a full bodied and robust beer from a brewery that wasnít on my radar until now. Maybe this summer when it is too hot for the stouts Iíll get some more of their releases.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
bomber into a rocks glass
caramel amber color, sticky white collar. good lacing.
Big pungent citrus nose with some sweetness in the background.
Big caramel backbone with a lot of pungent citrus in the taste. Very pungent, very dank. Bitter and dirty orange, pine, grapefruit.
Very oily, big feel with some prickly carbonation to smooth it out. Big acid finish. ABV kicks in the the end.
Prickly carbonation really helps this out. If you like dank IIIPAís this is a winner.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours light, no head. Pungent nose. Strong citrus flavor. The high ABV somewhat screws this brew up, just too boozy. Otherwise a solid IIIPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly darker amber colored, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, citrus, slightly tropical, some caramel, alcohol. Fairly full bodied, moderate bitterness, somewhat alcoholic. Itís pretty tasty but itís not the perfect hop bomb either.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle from Cask níFlask, San Jose- bottled 27/09/13, drank right now. Sober. Deep copper-amber with an undulating white foam. Nose of bright floral peach, strawberry chew, blackcurrant and pine; stewed tea and lychee hop slathered in honey sweetness and peppery booze. Hot front with orange liqueur and honey, medicinal (throat sweet) honey and lemon bitterness, dragonfruit and red apple undercurrents losing the battle to the alcohol. Good multi-coloured hop-scented belches- too little too late. Coming to the conclusion I donít much care for high ABV hop monsters where the nuances, aromatics and pungency of the hops get sledgehammered by sweetness and heat.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear copper with a fluffy white head. Aroma is caramel malt and piney hops. Taste is shockingly malt forward. Tons of caramel malt. Extremely bitter with notes of pine and citrus. Significant alcohol heat. Thick syrupy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Great balance but still intense.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy citrus, mango, pineapple, peach, lemon, and pine. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a two finger yellow-tinted off-white head that has decent retention before it finally settles into a soapy film. There is a decent amount of soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy citrus, pineapple, and mango. There is some light caramel in the background. The finish has moderate-heavy grapefruit, lighter pine, and a touch of alcohol. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, it tastes and feels like the big beer it is.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
very big and bold, lots of crystal sweetness and pine, but some candy sugar and caramel to balance in the finish. a tiny bit one dimensional, but delivers where you would expect. good at hiding the huge ABV, also. a big hoppy beer with some finesse.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Have to say this is quite a simple beer - big piney goodness. Drier than expected which meant the bitterness was more prevalent. Unfortunately in this country woefully overpriced so the overall aspect is compromised.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Extraordinary bitter. But what does 8/20/13 bottle mean. If bottled then, this is what it should be. A bomber must be shared.
