2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A half finger of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is single-mindedly vanilla.
The taste is moderately sweet moving sweeter at the end. The middle has an unexpected bitterness. The profile is a bit disjointed.
Smooth texture with low carbonation and thicker body.
If you like sweetness this is for you.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hoppier than I remembered from the Brewers Showcase last year. Nice chocolaty, coffee flavor with a hint of vanilla. The name suggests more vanilla than it actually has. I would like to taste a little more.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from brother for Christmas. Nice aroma of high quality vanilla and roasted malts. Flavor of light vanilla, roasted malt, and slightly bitter hops that linger in the finish. Body is a light for a porter. I enjoyed this beer, but I wanted a little more vanilla in the flavor of the beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from TW. Dark brown with a short, beige head leaving scant lace. Nose is vanilla and chocolate - like chocolate milk, only better - and some licorice. Medium body, moderate but sharp carbonation. Vanilla, chocolate, pine and citrus (lemon), singed caramel and licorice. Finish is a bit sticky, as if lactose were used, but otherwise sweet chocolate and pleasant.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer is dark brown, nearing black, with a small tan head. The aroma brings some roast, vanilla, chocolate. Vanilla flavor is prominent, with some burnt roast and a subtle lactic presence. The body is thin, even a tad watery. Overall, pretty good.
