4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A little bit smokey (though not smoked) with a fun color but just light enough to enjoy. Lots of caramel, coffee, and tobacco. A little bit leathery, but as if you were chewing on an old watch band (nostalgic kinda, though why you would do that I can only begin to guess). Tasty and satisfying.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark brown, cream coloured head that retains briefly. Aroma is straight up Kahlua. Flavour is much the same, with an extract quality to the vanilla that doesnít appeal to me. On the thin side. Not horrible like the blonde ale, but not solid like the Hoptologist either-- just okay.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A - Pours a dark brown-black color with a finger of frothy khaki-chocolate colored head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of roasted chocolate malts, roasted coffee, vanilla, and some sweet caramel malts.
T - Starts off with a mix of roasted chocolate malts with some roasted coffee, vanilla, and caramel malts. Through the middle, some more coffee flavor and vanilla with some nuttiness. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate and coffee malts with some vanilla, caramel malts, and nutty flavors.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth and a touch thick with a sweet and roasty finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice American porter with a good overall balance.

Aroma: Vanilla bean, caramel squares. Light smokey roast.
Taste: Creme soda, dark roast slight twang in the finish. Very vanilla forward.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with modest carbonation.
Overall: Smells and tastes fantastic with enough roast balance so that itís not too sweet.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This poured a dark brown with a big tan head and a lot of lacing. The nose was chocolate, coffee, and some vanilla. Medium in body. Flavor is off somehow with some odd tastes that might be the vanilla. Some bitterness in the finish. I had trouble finishing the 22 oz bottle. Not quite sure what is wrong here, but up to now I loved Knee Deep beers. Not this one.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bomber from Hayduke. This pours quite black. I rolled my bottle just before opening and the head gushed and then was very active but fell quite slowly. Some chocolate in the nose and a bit of roasted effect. I never did taste vanilla in this but some vegetable flavor that might have been the vanilla beans. Some chocolate and lighter coffee flavors. Hops were tasted late and were more sour than anything. There was a sharp bitter dge to this that reminded me of orange zest. Metal was also tasted and it might have been aluminum. I love vanilla and was looking forward to this one. However, the vanilla never showed up but metal, odd hops, and zest did. And at the finish I taste some onions. This is not a well brewed beer and is my first negative one from Knee Deep.
