Draught @ The Ginger Man, New York, NY
Pours dark reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, cocoa and vanilla. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long roasted, chocolate, cocoa and vanilla finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Aromas of vanilla, nougat, caramel, toffee, coffee, mocha and latte. Appears black with a quick receding mocha head. Taste is somewhat bland upfront yet, bursting with flavors quick after. Notes of coffee, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, caramel and some slight spice. Finishes dry and slightly roasty. Overall, pretty well rounded beer but nothing special.

On tap @ Knee Deep. Very dark brown color with some reddish highlights and khaki foam. Sweet vanilla extract and cream soda nose. A bit of roast, toasted nuts, and grenadine. This is one sweet beer. A whole lot of vanilla and cherry syrup. Some malty sweetness adds to it as well...plenty of caramel, nuts, and chocolate. Tastes like malty cream soda. No thanks.

Aromat czekoladowy, palony. Ciemno brunatne, nieprzejrzyste, brak piany. W smaku wanilia i nieco paloniści, czekolada, ciemne słody. Czuć dodawana wanilię, nie beczkową. Zbyt wodnisty.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/15/2014. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big vanilla, caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, creamed coffee, toast, and light herbal. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and vanilla notes; with good strength. Taste of vanilla, caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, creamed coffee, toast, and light herbal. Slight herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of vanilla, caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, creamed coffee, toast, and light herbal on the finish for a good bit. Good complexity and solid robustness of dark/roasted malt and vanilla flavors; with a great malt/vanilla balance and minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good vanilla porter. All around good complexity and solid robustness of dark/roasted malt and vanilla flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

beerbill (3565) - Laurel, New York, USA - JAN 28, 2015
22 oz. bottle purchased at Dave’s Bellport Cold Beer and Soda. Pours a very dark brown, not quite black, with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. Very pleasant aroma that is filled with vanilla along with chocolate, coffee, and mild roast. The flavor is very similar with ample vanilla with chocolate, coffee, and mild roast. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied, perhaps leaning just a bit on the lighter side of that. Enjoyable.
