A half finger of tan head on a black body. The aroma is single-mindedly vanilla. The taste is moderately sweet moving sweeter at the end. The middle has an unexpected bitterness. The profile is a bit disjointed. Smooth texture with low carbonation and thicker body. If you like sweetness this is for you.

"pours fairly thick and dark brown, thinner on the palate than it looks. strong aroma of vanilla (which may be scaled back in the final product), roasted & chocolate malts. smooth as hell, light-medium bodied. flavor much the same. the vanilla dominates but not overly so. goes down way too easy, and disappears way too fast."

Big time vanilla flavor, backed with a coffee flavored body. I feel like the vanilla really overwhelms everything and is to much for me personally. Definitely a beer to drink with desert.

Draft at brewery. Strong coffee and chocolate nose. Pour is pitch black with a light brown head. Taste is moderately vanilla with some milky notes, like a sweet stout. Sweet and smooth.

Strong vanilla notes lead in the aroma of the beer with slight coffee notes following. It is a beautiful black color. Strong vanilla flavor and it is much more mild a a whole lot lighter than a typical porter. Flavor is a little too mild and fleeting for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty nice stout. Dark malt flavor that brings about tastes of coffee, herbs and a vanilla taste. But not the artificial vanilla flavor but more of a bitter natural vanilla. If you have ever tried raw vanilla you know what im talking about. All in all I think the bitter of the vanilla coincides well with the stout. I found it drinkable and well crafted.

Bottle. Dark cola almost black, thin tan head. Aroma is sweet creamy vanilla. The taste follows suit with milk, some cocoa, and roasted malt. Smooth, easy and drinkable. Light soft finish but too thin. Good stuff ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tanilla strikes! 2014 version that weighs in a lot heavier than listed. Tanilla is pretty damn good when all said and done. Smooth chocolate and coffee, with a bit of a roasty element. There is a bit of herbaceous and spruce involved in the mix. Maybe not a standout, but hides a considerable punch.

22 ounce bottle poured into a Belgian snifter. Pours dark brownish black with close to two fingers of tan head. Decent lacing. Aromas of vanilla, vanilla extract, milk and dark chocolate, roast. Tasting notes of vanilla, milk and dark chocolate, toffee, light roast. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Pretty decent.

From bottle to glass. Moderate soft vanilla and high roast. Very dark brown and clear with a beige head. Moderate webbing. Flavor is overt roast and coffee with a slight artificial vanilla backing. Astringent.
