1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 jgb9348 (3371) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Crystal clear golden coloured body with a thick, fast-dying, ugly lace leaving white stain. Aroma of malt, cardboard, funk, yeast, dog food and not much else that’s pleasant. Light-bodied; Funky malt flavour with a bit of cardboard, some light fruits and a gross sweetness. Aftertaste shows some odd funky notes, stale malt, yeast and bad sugars. Overall, nothing too pleasant - not a good beer showing any good qualities from start to finish. Drinkable, but barely. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman’s In Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on 22-July-2011 sampled at home home in Manassas, Virginia on 05-August-2011.

Bottle Summer Stock Pils. Poured clear pale color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good citrus & grass hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good well balanced flavor with a moderate smooth balanced finish of moderate duration. Drinkable beer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jb (1540) - Rochester, New York, USA - NOV 23, 2010
Very pale looking, and clear, some head. Typical grassy and floral nose. Creamy mouthfeel, a bit of German hop taste in the palate, a little bit dry, a decent take on a German pils.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 EithCubes (3053) - GERMANY - NOV 19, 2010
Bottled as Summer Stock Pils (German Style). Citric grass nose, a little grain and pale malt. Sickly pale yellow-golden pour with a sudsy bright white head. Dry, very dry and gritty, some light grain under crushed malt. Light-bodied and forgettable, not entirely clean, but hard to put a finger on. Would have been better with a chaser, for sure.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DalzAle (1336) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - NOV 7, 2010
Bottle. Light clear yellow pour, a little carbonation and slightly sweet and subtle hop aroma. Flavor is light lemon citrus, a little floral lemongrass, light malt and finished a pleasantly bitter. Decent, would be good for a BBQ.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ApisAles (1153) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Pours crystal clear pale yellow. Aroma is buttered biscuits and corn flakes with a touch of skunk. Flavor is Better. A bit biscuity pretty crisp. Perfectly acceptable lawn mower beer.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 obguthr (2385) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2010
Labeled Stegmaier Summer Stock Pils: Horrid smell of buttery bran and corn flakes, with shitty undertones. Clear yellow, thin head. Watery. Lemony cardboard flavor. I get the sense that the attempt is to be different from a macro, but different isn’t always better. Pretty bad.
Side note: After rating, I noticed this beer has undergone a series of re-branding. I think I know why.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 patrick767 (2772) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 1, 2010
bottle - Pours light gold with a one finger white head. There’s a mild aroma of pale malt with a hint of hops. It tastes of sweet bready malt with some mild hops that unfortunately lack a fresh, crisp flavor, carrying a hint of cardboard instead. It’s not bad, but there are certainly better pilseners around.
