COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beer true to the traditional style of IPA but with some contemporary elements. The beer is 5% abv which enables it to be enjoyed by the pint as well as in bottle.
The malt used is Maris Otter Pale Ale Malt, ideally suited for this style of beer.
The star of the show in an IPA should be the hops. Our IPA has a bitterness of 40 IBU which provides an invigorating bitterness hit and a refreshing aftertaste.
The hops used are New World hops which in general provide a more intense flavour and aroma than their European counterparts. The hops are added in three stages. The first addition is for bitterness and is added at the start of the boil, the second is for flavour and is added 5 minutes from the end of the boil and the third is added once the boil has finished and provides the hop aroma without the mouth drying effect of dry-hopping.

Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma of grassy hops, bread crust, some citrus, weak sweet malts and some herbs. The taste is bitter and grainy with notes of crisp hops, citrus and some herbs. Decent and refreshing hoppy beer.

330ml bottle from Beers52.com. Bright amber with a thin white head; tropical fruit aroma; thick, oily body with a good dosing of hops, giving a spicy bitterness and a lasting clean finish. A pleasant IPA.

330ml bottle, pours light golden with a white head. Aroma is golden malt, light caramel, floral hop with a light citrus. Nice balance of malt and hop ends with long bitter finish. Light body, thin, slightly oily texture, lively carbonation.

500ml bottle poured into an Old Speckled Hen badged pint vase at home on 16th Feb 2015. Extremely lively pour with a huge white foaming head that filled the glass before I had a chance to stop pouring. It settled down OK and a pale golden body began to appear as the bubbles calmed and popped. Good hoppy nose with a hint of the bitterness to come: which it does by the bucket load in the taste. Really hop bitter in every corner, but in a good way. I really enjoyed this: during a random Monday tasting session with myself and Bertie, the dog!

Cask at Ship Inn North Berwick. Creamy with head that lasts and laces al down glass. Had three pints. It does have quiite a strong lemony grapefruit finish. I agree with comment that likens it to a stronger Deuchars. Both in strength and taste.

330ml bottle at home. Pours golden, maybe a little pale for an IPA? Strong grapefruit aroma, taste is citrus with a slight chalky taste. Decent but nothing special

Pale yellow beer with a thick bubbly head and strong aroma of grapefruit. Flavour is more lemony, with a dry hoppy twist and a rather airy finish. The flavour doesít linger much but itís a crisp, dry and refreshing beer.

The taste saves this one with a hops characteristic that you canít get from a lower grade beer, at a reasonable cost. Worth a try.
