This aromatic and caramelly dark bock-style beer with subtle sweet and winey notes has been made by following traditional brewing methods used in the previous century.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is malty and syrupy with some christmas bread. Also some distant sewer tones. Flavour has sweetish malty tones, syrup and some bread. Some herbal and spicy tones in the background. Too sweet and sticky.

Also some berry tones typical to dunkler bocks show up when this warms up.

Tap@Kochi Ait Deep ruby, clear color, small steady beige head. Aroma has some malts, alcohol and hints of chocolate. Medium-bodied. Quite simple flavor, some toasted malts, caramel and chocolate. Clean but could have more character.

Tap@brewpub. Mahogany clear. Brown malty candi syrupy nose with yeasty goodery and some herbs. Full bodied, sweet brown malty. Clean, tasty. Very nice dubbel- like ale. A bit too clean perhaps. Feels a bit sterile.

(Keg at Kochi Ait Trahter, 20130703) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and sugary sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were caramell, malts, molasses, grass and bitterness. A bit harsh beer but flawless.

Tap (Kochi Ait, Tallinn)
Slightly buttery milky treacly aroma. Clear very dark red, brief head. Sweetish in the palate, plenty of treacle taste, some sweet fullness, but the carbonation cuts throught that easily. Caramel is the dominant thrust, definitely, but there’s a nice roasty burntness too. Finish has a nice hoppy bite - earthy and quite old. Massively drinkable, no sign of 6% at all - this way danger lies.

Tap. Dark chestnut color. Small off-white head, stays. Roast, grainy, malty aroma. Roasted, malty, caramel, burnt s, watery, alco in flavor. Some burnt sugar, but mostly clean watery aftertaste.
