Kauge (63) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 16, 2014
Draught at Kochi Aidad (€ 2,90 for 50 cl) in Tallinn, June 2014. Not a fan of Bocks but here goes anyway. Pours dark chestnut red, light beige head disappears fast. Aroma is predominantly malty: syrupy sweet, caramel, spicy of cumin, slightly alcoholic and peanuty. Somewhat muddy even? Little carbonation. Mouthfeel is sticky and oily, metallic. Medium body. Tastes sweet, slightly bitter, and again metallic, peanuty. Something like dried apples and plums soaked in liqueur. More sour as it warms. Would go well with a wintery lunch by the fireplace. Should rerate some time.

laiti (5515) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 28, 2014
Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is malty and syrupy with some christmas bread. Also some distant sewer tones. Flavour has sweetish malty tones, syrup and some bread. Some herbal and spicy tones in the background. Too sweet and sticky.

Also some berry tones typical to dunkler bocks show up when this warms up.

Tap@Kochi Ait Deep ruby, clear color, small steady beige head. Aroma has some malts, alcohol and hints of chocolate. Medium-bodied. Quite simple flavor, some toasted malts, caramel and chocolate. Clean but could have more character.

Tap@brewpub. Mahogany clear. Brown malty candi syrupy nose with yeasty goodery and some herbs. Full bodied, sweet brown malty. Clean, tasty. Very nice dubbel- like ale. A bit too clean perhaps. Feels a bit sterile.

mjs (4460) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 3, 2013
(Keg at Kochi Ait Trahter, 20130703) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and sugary sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were caramell, malts, molasses, grass and bitterness. A bit harsh beer but flawless.
