sampled both on tap, for the first time at slunce ve skle 2008 and bottled, most recently a few weeks ago. golden, full-bodied, gentle saaz aroma, some peachiness in the malt character and a quite bitter finish. feels a little dumbed-down for a kocour beer but not soulless

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of butter and malt as well as a lighter note of caramel. The flavor is sweet iwth notes of straw, malt, and citrus fruits, leading to a dry buttery finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

ElDesmadre (476) - Mikołów, POLAND - JUN 13, 2011
Bottle. Hazy light brown, frothy but not sustaining head. Aroma is lots of hops and malty graininess but also unfortunately some acidity. The sourness fades somewhat with time and without it the beer would smell really good, with its grainy, nutty, herbal and peppery profile. Low carbonation, taste unfortunately doesn’t manage to excel the nose - the nuttiness and hop-aroma are the highpoints for this one, the bitterness could be more pronounced and the lowpoints are the slightly watery body and acidity. I guess this one might have been infected but the taste is not too well balanced either way.

Earthy aroma, very spicy (pepper, herb), a little butter. Flavor is strongly bitter and with almost no sweetness. Slight diacetyl. A little thin. Great head, frothy and dense also. Bracingly bitter. I like that but others may not. Quite fresh. Good Lord almighty do I love a fresh unfiltered pils.
