On tap at Toulavy Kocour Pub (03/03/13). Feels good to renew with this level of quality Czech beers after a rather disapointing dinner. Clear, very light, bright gold pour with impeccable white head. Aroma of fresh cereal, grain, lots of hops, grassy/leafy saaz but also some more new-world varieties, some hints of citrus, light lemon, melon and pineapple, light honey grainy notes. Taste is grainy, light honey-like perceived sweetness although the beer itself is quite dry, light fruity hops, well dosed bitter finish. Palate is dry, soft, silky carbonation, great palate. A nice modern twist that respects the traditional character of this style.

My Bottom Line:
Elegant citrusy hop spiciness benefits from a grassy touch in this crisp, refreshing Svetly.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A super creamy head of foam tops the bright yellow mist.
-The finish is hoppier than your average Svetly.
-The mouthfeel is creamy yet not very sweet at all.
-A touch of hay is shared by the pils malts.

On tap at U Toulavy Kocour, Brno.

(Rating #4842)

Bottle from Pivonka, Hradec Kralove. Pours light golden with a big frothy white head. Arma is fruity and citric. Fizzy mouthfeel. Taste is full of crisp citrusy hops, which make my mouth dry up, ends bitter malty, with a rather good and lingering sour touch. Nice and refreshing beer from Varnsdorf

Bottled. Classic light golden hazy color with nice stable foam. Aroma is not very impressive, some malts and a bit of hops. Taste suprisingly sweet with some bitterness which is enriched closer to the end. Medium body.

Bottled. Hazy golden, small head. Grassy hops and creamy malt, dry with light body and crisp mouthfeel. Fairly hoppy with growing late bitterness. Good pils!

Earthy aroma, very spicy (pepper, herb), a little butter. Flavor is strongly bitter and with almost no sweetness. Slight diacetyl. A little thin. Great head, frothy and dense also. Bracingly bitter. I like that but others may not. Quite fresh. Good Lord almighty do I love a fresh unfiltered pils.

0,5 l bottle.
Poured minimal opalescent golden with a medium creamt white head. Caramel, malt, light honey, mild sourish yeast and some floral-straw hop in the aroma. Not bad. Easy bodied but not watery texture, light caramel and malt, some honey with sourish bottom.yeasts, balanced floral hop in the finish. Nice and easy drinkable everyday beer.
