Actually, "my" Saurus claims 20° Plato... Good yellow head over foxy copper-amber clear beer. Hops, bit nutty, caramel, parsley. (Hazel-)nutoil wafting up with warming. Quite bitterish, with caramel, as the caramel-hazelnut lollipops from the fairgrounds, but not really sweet. Like an ultra Ur-Bock, leafy and leaning towards dry attenuation, and better hopped. Caramel to toffee retronasal. Only after a lot of warming up, and then only retronasal, one gets phenolic smokiness. Medium bodied at least. Good balance sweet-bitter and rather well-carbonated MF. One to grow upon you. Congrats, Jan, with this recipe! Many thanks to Honza and Denisa!

Bottled.Brownish Amber with a very small head that disappears very shortly after you pour it.An earthy Aroma also that includes, candy sugar, prune, apple peal, soil and tree bark.A very creamy, sweet fruity taste that fades into a very piney, bug spray like aftertaste. The sweetness slowly disappears but the creaminess is gone the moment the bitterness kicks in.I can’t say I’ve ever had anything like it!

Bottle, bought at U Medvidku.
BBD 20100508...
Poured hazy deep amber with a nice medium foamy offwhite head. Aroma of fruktose or some PEZ.candy, yeast and caramel. After a while the peat character opens with a sourish chartacter. Robust body with smoke and peat, earth in the mouth. Yeast and molasses, fruits and the fructose, and the peat, and the sourish peat again with pinneapple-like tastes.... Tales from the paleolit side! And yes, tales from the hard side!(BIOHAZARD...;-)) Wow! Really good one;-)

bottle from U Medvídků. Brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Smoky nose. Full-bodied, malty base with a nice smoky character. American citrusy hops go well with the smoky character of the beer. Interesting and very convincing.
