Bottle at Haket during Gothenburg Beer Festival 2011

Black color, tan head. Acidic to sour scent and taste. Medium thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.
This one must be infected, I’m sure it’s not supposed to taste like this.

abemorsten (1336) - Randaberg, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2011
Shared bottle courtesy of gunnar at Sigmund’s summer tasting. Creamy, brown head on a black body with clear brown edges. Coffee, ash, milk and roasted notes on the nose. Sour and astringent with some roasted notes present. Medium to full body. Obviously gone bad, but with some good aromas still present.

Sigmund (3720) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - JUN 23, 2011
Bottle, shared by gunnar. ABV is 4.3%. Black colour, moderate tan head. "Dry" and ashy aroma, notes of cold coffee. The flavour is sour and vinegary as hell, completely gone bad, undrinkable.

ElDesmadre (476) - Mikołów, POLAND - JUN 7, 2011
Bottle. Almost black with a beige, thick and frothy head. Aroma is very strong and dry - mainly quite heavily roasted malt, black coffee and dark chocolate. More in the beckground: burnt breadcrust, toffee, vanilla and nuts. Slightly watery, the taste is dominated by black coffee and dark chocolate, some vanilla and nuts. Moderate carbonation, not too intensive cocoa-like bitterness. Great!

pivnizub (7240) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
Bottle: Literally black, rapidly vanishing fluffy tanned head; dryish roasty-caramelly nose with chocolatey and fruity spots; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, a bit fizzy; slightly lingering chocolatey and roasty finish. Quite O.K., no surprise......

MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAY 12, 2011
(bottle, 100cl) Black colour with a beige and short quickly diminishing frothy head. Roasty malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, mocha and a tinge of vanilla. Roasty bitter flavour with just a tinge of malty sweetness, light bodied with a slightly sharp carbonation. Roasty malt-character with strong notes of chocolate and coffee; dry-ish bitter finish with dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Nice but not great. 11.V.11

Bottle@Home. Malts, chocolate. Black, brown head, lots of large bubbles, good lace. Malts, roasted, chocolate, ashes in the finish. Medium body. Nice example of a light stout.

Schroppfy (2335) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - MAR 11, 2011
I agree there is some butter/diacetyl in the aroma, but not bad to my nose. Slight smoke and forest smells too, but a good bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor is bitter chocolate almost exclusively, some chalkiness. Dry beer. Unidimensional. Almost a dry stout. Awesome brown head, great conditioning throughout.

Hazy brown. Thick caramel head. The aroma is full of butter. Yuk. Creamy, toasty with quite a bit of chocolate. Actually quite good, despite the vile aroma; the butter disappears on the palate.

fonefan (25125) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2011

Bottle 300ml.

Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted - dark roasted, coffee, butter, used coffee - secondhand coffee, sweet dark malt - coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, tobacco - pipe tobacco - sour pipe tobacco. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110215]
