Bottle: Golden, hazy, medium-sized, slowly collapsing white head; moderate nose of ripe bananas and wheat; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour with a light bitterness, soft, light to medium bodied; fruity and wheaty finish with hoppy spots. Good, archetypal Weizen.....

bottled. simple yet effective version of the style - slightly hazed golden with a persistent head; aromas of bubblegum and banana; hints of porridge, wheatgrass and lemon zest. more competent than creative but all the better for it

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2012 On tap. Straw to golden colour, very lightly cloudy. Creamy head that lasts very long. Medium aroma of wheat, notes of banana, yeasts, minor citrus fruits. Initially sweet taste, but then light bitterness somewhat neutralizes the taste. Some could say it is dull. Does not have the immortal sweet finish that often annoys me with weizens. Instead, it is more balanced. Not one of the best of this type, but deffinitely not one of the worst, maybe little indifferent, but good.

Fresh 0.3L bottle from U Medvidku. Pours absolutely crystal clear like a Kristallweizen. A small and fizzy off-white head fades quickly to a thin ring, as small snakes and micro-spots of lacing mark the glass. Eventually, all of the lace recedes. The nose is based in clean (but thinned and weakened) wheat malt with notes of banana esters, dulled citrus peel, and coriander. Flavors follow suit, mostly dull and boring, lacking in the fruity yeast character that defines a Hefe, showing only distant remnants of banana, clove, coriander, and citrus pith. The body is thin and wet, overly carbonated, and almost completely void of substance. If they are truly aiming for a Hefeweizen here, they’ve missed the mark by a longshot. Kristallweizen is a much more accurate classification, and as is typical for that style, this brew is lacking across the board.

Not the densest head, not a creamy head as in some, but still pretty nice. Gorgeous color, totally standard luminescent gold. Fresh aromas of wheat tang, and a bit of banana. Quite clovey taste, some pepper, wheaty acidity, medium sweetness. Good beer. Very fresh. Best before April, 2011, from Piwoteka.

(bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Sweet and yeasty worty malty aroma with a moderate wheat-character and grainy notes as well as a touch of ripe bananas. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Yeasty malty and slightly wheaty taste with grainy accents and distinctive notes of banana; sweet and minimally sour finish with a light whiff of flowery and herbal hops. Tasty Hefeweizen. 11.VIII.10
