On tap at the Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Murky orange color with an odd orange head. Big pine hop nose. The first sip was a hit of raw hop juice. Very one dimensional, but the 10% (claimed) ABV was well hidden.

Had this on tap this past weekend at the Great Alaskan Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Colour... slightly cloudy gold with a 1/4" head. Nose... nicely hoppy, floral, heather and stone fruits. Palate... very sweet, malty and yet hoppy (nice balance between the two!), dried apricot and peach, toffee and a medium length finish. Different than most barley wines I’ve had but I say, nicely done! Well done, Ben!

18-Jan-08 (Draft: 2008 Great Alaskan Beer and Barley Wine Festival in Anchorage, AK) Earthy aroma with medium-sweet sherry notes; smells like a nicely aged barley wine. Earth and light roast in the flavor, sweet and fruity, but dry on the palate. Smooth and full-bodied with medium carbonation. Golden-amber color, good clarity. The small, off-white head settles to a thin ring. Doesn’t stand out above the crowd, but doesn’t get lost either.
