Oct 15, 2008 Black color with nice beige head. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate and rye. Flavor is sweet roasted malty with lots of coffee and some chocolate. Also a slight flavor of fruits can be tasted. Dry in the end with very nice bite of hops. Great mouthfeel. Amazingly delicious for a Finnish beer.

Oct 15, 2008 Bottle courtesy of SoLan. Pours a pitch black with a 2 finger chocolate milk colored head and nice delicate lacing. Nose is roasted malt, coffee grounds, toasted oats and some light dark fruits. Taste is ashy malt, cocoa, roasted coffee beans, salty black licorice and some bitter hops finishing it out. Full, creamy mouth feel. A great Baltic porter – thanks Alan!

Beautiful sepia color with a short-lived yet rich, creamy tan head. There’s some roast malt and chocolate in the nose, but it’s driven by very sweet, sugary fruit: plum, raisin, near grape juice. Flavor is similarly fruity, more coffee present than chocolate, long in sweet malt. Full bodied and rich, it’s not quite as smooth as I’d like. Still a great beer; my main regret was it being only 33cl.

Oct 7, 2008 Updated: Dec 19, 2008Bottle. Pitch black colour with a nice brown head. Roasted malt and liquorice aroma. The flavour is sweet, liquorice and roasted malt with hints of coffee and dark chocolate. Long, roasted and bitter aftertaste. Full-bodied and smooth mouthfeel. Delicious Porter.

Sep 22, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet malt aroma, with fruit and alcohol. Black in color, light brown head. Tangy fruity flavor, also coffee and caramel. Very long finish, including alcohol warming. Potent and very tasty.

Sep 17, 2008 330 ml bottle. Pitch black, with a thick creamy light brown head. Sweet aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, coffee and dark chocolate. THe flavour is like the aroma, with a nice bitter and slightly burned hoppy finish. Smooth mouthfeel. By far the best Finnish beer I’ve tasted.
