Keijo (3), Helsinki, Finland does not count Oct 7, 2007 Very nice roasted taste maybe even little smoky.Finnish has little bit of bitterness. Head is quite rich. ChrisJ (100), Warrenton, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2007 Bottled as Sinebrychoff. Pours black with a thin tan head which leaves some thin lacing. Aroma is earthy with notes of roasted malt. There is some cocoa and chocolate which hints at things to come. There is almost no carbonation. The nose is sweet and gives way to symphony of earthy flavors. The flavor is extremely complex. I picked up cocoa, coffee, molasses, and some wood. The finish is slightly bitter. The mouth feel is of a medium body beer. I found no trace of the 7.2 abv. It was thinner than I anticipated. It was extremely smooth. An extraordinary porter. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Oct 2, 2007 deep brown so as to appear black. roasted chocolate aroma that is fine. smoky and chocolate flavor with a creamy brown head and consistancy. the palate is excellent as is the appearance. the flavor is verygood and the smokiness eases quite a bit and in short order. wonderful hop finish that announces itself in an understated and inticing way. magnificent! cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Oct 1, 2007 Pours oily black with muted head. Super roasted aromas emerge as well as dark fruit scents like raisin, plum and figs, touched with a burnt sugar, coffee and mocha element.A well bodied roasted brew with a warming quality. Balanced and robust, this porter is very tasty which fits the style quite well and presents a drinkable, quality beer. Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Sep 25, 2007 (Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 21 Sep 2007) Pitch black colour with brief, brown head. Roasted nose with chocolate, coffee, liquorice and modest notes of tar. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, liquorice, hints of tar and soy sauce. Powerful finish with coffee bitterness and sweetish chocolate notes. Medium to full body, with slightly oily texture. Seriously nice porter. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 24, 2007 This dark brown ale poured with a decent long-lasting tan head and a strong malt aroma. The flavor is rather bitter for a porter, but that is offset by the sweetness in the ensuing coffee and caramel malt tastes. Very complex and delicious. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 24, 2007 (Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Black color, fluffy creamy brown head. Fruity, sweet, roasted scent. Roasted dry coffee and chocolate taste with hints of metal. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Was very nice with some chocolate truffel. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Sep 19, 2007 Bottled as Sinebrychoff. Sweet malty aroma with a huge helping of earthy roast that gets down and dirty. Light appended fruitiness and medium-strength notes of chocolate and caramel. Opaque motor oil pour with a dark brown head, long-lasting and lacing and rocky - an absolutely gorgeous beer. Bitter and very dry taste (and after-), heavy roast overtones with very sweet red berry rushing up to offer balance. Coffee and caramel linger but only deep under the chocolate. Thin body, smooth feel, and relatively tight alcohol integration. Feel like some sort of stratigrapher or dendrochronologist counting the rings of lace collected on the glass, and the slowly-diminishing rocky head reminds of ice cream dumped into a glass of A&W. Superb.
