Fresh milk chocolate nose. Flavor is initially roasty bitter and sour, but reveals creamy coffee and sweet chocolate, and little fruitiness. A tad watery body, sour and easy drink. Yet good. shp555 (1681), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 8, 2006 This pours very dark black, with a foamy, brown head. Scent is malty with molasses, and a bit of woodiness. The beer smells sweet, but the flavor is predominantly dry. There’s plenty of malt flavor, but the hops (I can’t place them) cover over most of the sweetness. The flavor is also slightly metallic. Finish is also dry, and the aftertaste borders on bitter. The palate is my favorite part of this beer -- like silk, even at room temperature. This beer is very, very tasty. I’ve had it several times, and i’m always impressed. Gr0ve (1392), Oslo, Norway
