guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Jun 25, 2009 poured a dark and full bodied like a stout with 1 inch thick brown head aromas of roasted malts, hops and coffee taste of soy sauce, roasted dark malts, coffee and hops overall bold with lots of lacing reminds me of a stout in body and appearence troopie (848), USA May 31, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with thick beige head. Much lacing. Powerful aroma of walnuts, caramel and melt. Flavour is complex blend of walnuts, caramel, roast malt and a hoppish edge. Rich lasting finish. Good with the old songs. Chaasrainer (9), Finland does not count May 29, 2009 330ml bottle. Had it in room temperature. Pours nearly black with a nice brownish head that also seems to last quite long. Aroma is strong roasted and quite good actually. Flavor begins sweet malty and advances to a nice, roasty finish with some coffee also. Very nice, definitely the best finnish beer I’ve had so far. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA May 24, 2009 From a bottle poured black with a small amount of head. Nice strong toatsed malty flavor with a lingering finish. Finwe (56), Grankulla, Finland May 18, 2009 Bottle 33 cl. Black with a tan head. A malt-dominated aroma with sugars present in abundance. Some roastiness in taste combines with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and raisins. Some bitterness in the finish. One of the best Finnish beers by a non-microbrewery. armando629 (954), Budapest, Hungary May 13, 2009 Poured black with a superb and lacing, foamy and creamy beige head. Delicious aroma of coffee, roasted grains, some dried fruits and liqueric alcohol, vanilla. Rich body, oily texture with sweet coffe, deep roasted malt, dark chocolate, some creamy vanilla. Fine bitterness in the finish. Fine and delicious one, strong personality what makes numbly my tongue... robertjm (399), El Cerrito, California, USA May 9, 2009 Pours nice dark tan head. Fairly foamy, but it does eventually collapse. Aroma heavy in malts and dark sugars. Dark black body with no light passing through. Not overly roasted in flavor, but bitterness does creep up in the aftertaste. Good body. Not thin, but not overly thick like some Baltics can be. CanIHave4Beers (833), Des Moines, Iowa, USA May 4, 2009 Pours a deep black with a big tan head leaving a very good lace. The aroma is very plummy with some vanilla and chocolate. The aroma doesn’t smack you across the nose, you’ve kind of got to get you’re face in the glass, but what is there is very nice indeed. The flavor is complex lots of wonderful things going on. There is a deep earthiness, with complimentary dark fruit notes of raisin and plum. There is a slight burnt toast/burnt sugar thing going on that tastes far better than it sounds. This is very robust and very roasty, with a bitterness that reminds me of espresso but it’s weird because there isn’t much coffee in the flavor. This isn’t particularly dry but it’s in no way cloying. The beer finishes off with a wonderful lingering lightly syrupy mouth feel. Freaking wonderful!
