bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Mar 10, 2006 This one suffered being in comparison to the Olfabrikken, which we sampled directly before. A big sweet treacle aroma. Doesn’t seem to have the depth of flavour that the abv should command - it’s fairly bland and a bit watery. Good beer, but I expected more from this. KnutAlbert (3111), Oslo, Norway Mar 9, 2006 Koff Porter smalls of raisins ands smoke, which are also present in the full flavour. Prunes, toasted grain,, very complex, almost salty. A dry, slightly sour finish. Pitch black with a nice head the color of milk chocolate. 7,2% alcohol adds warmth. A great beer.
bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Mar 8, 2006 Pours black as night with a tan head. Aroma is very roasty. Flavor is of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. There is quite a bit of hop bitterness present. Mouthfeel is nice and full. Finish is smooth. A good Porter Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 8, 2006 Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a medium dark creamy had with very good retention. Aroma of chocolate is omnipresent with a nice touch of bitterness. Body is full and has a nice creamy texture that is very enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by the chocolate malt with nice light bitter ending. Very nice example for the style and probably even better then Okocim. Rune (2760), Tromsø, Norway Mar 5, 2006 330ml bottle from Alko in Finland. Enjoyed for nearly an hour late on a Friday afternoon in silent surroundings. Almost black, mocha-like, on colour. Brownish head. Strong malty aroma. Creamy and full bodied. Flavours of espresso coffee and dark chocolate. Bittersweet finish. A great Porter-version (03.03.2006). NachlamSie (1631), Tennessee, USA Feb 26, 2006 bottle. Quite opaque black brew with a dense tan head. The aroma is of soy sauce, instant coffee, thin chocolate. Much soy sauch in flavor with burned bark, but this gives way to a nuttier and sweeter finish. Great depth for the style. RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England Feb 26, 2006 Bottle. Deep black beer with a strong brown head. The aroma is malty and coffee, and the flavour is deeply dry espresso coffee. Overall a good beer. crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA Feb 23, 2006 BEUTIFUL full brown head. Honestly one of the best heads I have seen. Sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor is delicious, wonder chocolate and caramel flavors. This beer would be great as a desset. This is an absolutly wonderful stout. Very drinkable and sweet.
