The nose is rich with mocha, a note of dark spiced rum, espresso… it’s just chocolate malts all the way home! Oh Baby this is GOOD! The flavor is a bitter/sweet glass of coco and raisins. Creamy and delicious! Brings some woodsy notes of oak, dates, figs, and an unforgivable presence of smoky charred chocolate malts. This reminds me of the malted milk ball candy, Whoppers. This Baltic P has an amazing palate, and finishes with a somewhat dry fruity tastiness.
An Amazing Baltic Porter!!! piscator34 (1139), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Black in colour with a small off white head. Aromas of sweet malt, dark berry fruit, and a bit of soy. Flavors of prune dominate along with notes of black licorice and a bit of iron. Nice mouthfeel. Less "bright" fruit than I had expected, and quite dominant alcohol presence as well. Pwn3d (1139), Manhattan, New York, USA

Pour dark, nice burnt layers of flavor. Hard to recall all the details. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

Opaque black with ruby highlights and a creamy thick brown head. Dark fruity aroma with some coffee notes and spice. Thick and luxuriously chewy, with some lingering bitterness and a little oiliness. nicely balanced with a solid malt base and assertive spicy bitterness. A real treat, deserving of its reputation. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Pours a crude oil black with a large, rocky, dark mocha head. Quite beautiful. The aroma is huge and complex; you can smell this beer a foot away from the glass. Heavy roasted malts, chocolate, toffee, raisins, plums and vanilla all delight the olfactory system. The only thing that kept this one from being a "10" is an odd, light soy sauce note in the background. The mouthfeel is fairly full-bodied, oily, moderately carbonated and lightly bitter at the finish. The flavor, while not quite the sensory overload that the nose presents, is quite satisfying. Sweet roasted malts, plum, raisin, vanilla and coffee notes conclude in a lightly dry finish. This is a remarkable beer. Kaya161 (1129), San Diego, California, USA

The beer is black in colour with a nice tan head. Silky mouthfeel. The flavour is chcolatey, figgy, plummy, and slightly bitter. My first expirience with this style and it was quite good.
