bb (2001), Martinez, California, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottle. Blackish beer with a nice tan head. Big chocolate, caramel, malt aroma. Caramel malt flavor with light roast/espresso and slight mineral notes. Medium bodied. Lingering mineral, caramel, and light roast. AgentSteve (621), Livermore, California, USA Jul 25, 2008 Best of the night, shared by Fidel. Pours almost black with a decent, dark tan head. This was a big beer in nose and flavor. Complexity flowed with chocolate, molasses, roasted malt, finishing a bit dry and subtle bitterness. Very good beer. fidel (69), Livermore, California, USA Jul 25, 2008 Black, light roasted malt, Molasses, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, dry, slight hops. xibalba89 (81), New York, New York, USA Jul 20, 2008 Got a bottle at Spuyten Duyvil. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark malts and hops. The flavor has tons of dark malts and bitter hops, but not too bitter. I didn’t think it was as creamy as other people have said... it has a certain dryness in the finish that left me just wanting more. A really great beer. radagast83 (1025), Springfield, Virginia, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours a deep dark black with a medium tan head. This beer has a malty, somewhat sweet aroma that is populated by chocolate, coffee, vanilla. The flavor is quite similar, with a creamy texture. A quite wonderful beer.
