Ok, this is the latest idea from Sinebrychoff (owned by Carlsberg): "let’s take an old beer brand from the 1990’s and promote it as easy to drink festival beer". "Wild Indian" was the first corn beer in Finland 15 years ago (this one is propably with different recipe). Maize beer doesn’t sound very good marketing idea in Finland, where Bud has had quite bad reputation in the 2000’s. It pours golden with lots of CO2 and has small white head which fades away. Corn is evident in the nose as well some papery and skunky notes. Soft malty, a bit sweetish flavor. Propably corn softens this beer, although it is more on malty side. Light palate of course. Sweetish malty aftertaste. Clean and harmless summer drink. Cooler it is, the better it is. Slightly better and more drinkable than I expected, corn is not dominating in the flavor.
Archibaldo de la Cruz (307), Finland Apr 9, 2009 Can. Pale golden colour with a small white head. Sweetish malty aroma. Some sweetness, corn and malt in the flavour. fonefan (8711), VestJylland, Denmark Mar 5, 2009 Can 50cl. @ [ Ulfborg Tasting ]. [ Courtesy of Maria ]. Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, toasted, sweet malt, light light hoppy, flowers. Flavor is light to moderate sweet with a average to short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20081202] Jukkabro (2782), Tampere, Finland Feb 28, 2009 Light yellow colored with little white head. Thin aroma with sweetness, and, well, nothing else. I don’t even find that corn, slightly too cold maybe. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor has thin corn with sweetness still dominating, aftertaste dries slightly. Well, I could live without. Maria (5494), Thisted, Denmark Dec 3, 2008 This golden beer has a huge, creamy, white head. The aroma has sweetness and notes of malt and corn. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of flower, malt, corn and a light bitterness in the sweetish finish. The overall impression is thin. JK54B (729), Helsinki, Finland Aug 17, 2008 A 0.5L can from local market. White fast disappearing head. Pale golden yellow colour. Mild corn flavour taste. Mid hoppiness and slight sweetness. Quite waterly beer. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland Aug 15, 2008 Trying to think of an indian joke to offset the fact that this tastes like utterly boring and unnescessarily metallic crap that is actually worse than the normal koff beer they are making. How do you smoke signal "go fuck yourselves" cause that is what I want to message to the people who are responsible for this "speciality"? omhper (11601), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 22, 2008 Canned, thanks oh6gdx! Clear yellow, rich head. Fruity syrupy nose. Sweet and thin with vague fllavours of rice paper and metal. No hops, nor bitterness. At least the off-flavour are kept to a minimum. TET (199), Finland May 24, 2008 Light- yellow beer with thin and white head. There are grass, metal and some hops in the aroma. Flavour is biting and tasteless. There are some bitter hops in the end but it is biting. Very light to drink and watery. Overall impression is very dull and Koff Indian convinced not me at any way.
