COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kokanee is a 5.0 percent alcohol (by volume) lager that is smooth, clean and lightly hopped. It is brewed with mountain stream fed water and a blend of 3 malts and features a unique combination of superior Western-grown North American hops. Brewed in the Kootenay Mountains of British Columbia by the Columbia Brewing Company, Kokanee is British Columbia's most popular beer over the last 10 years. Since its introduction to the Northwest U.S. in the summer of 1994, many people have discovered and enjoyed Kokanee's cool, crisp, glacier fresh taste.

(Can 35,5 cl) Comes as "Kokanee Glacier Pilsener" - I reckon it’s this one. Another pale golden lager with the smallest imaginable white head. Sweetish corn aroma. Thin-bodied, accents of brewing cereal, but no real malty feel. And no bitterness either. "Brewed right in the Kootenays", the can proclaims - well, unfortunately it doesn’t help much... 040792

Draught in Kimberley, BC. Clear pale golden, minimal head. Neutral nose. Sweet and fruity with very light body. Inoffensve due to complete lack of flavour. No bitterness.

Bottle, 5%. Mild grass flavour, hint of bread. Served quite cold, does not taste of much. Low bitterness, clean finish.

Bottle. A clear, slightly pale golden beer topped by a decent, white head. The aroma is mostly on the grainy side, some fruityness kicking in as well. Medium to thin on the palate, too sweet I think, with a faint bitterness and some fruity hints. Short finish. Except for the sweetness, it’s a decent pale lager I think, but there’s way too many other options out there. 130704

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2006 Clear dull yellow, no head. Light, grainy aroma. Very little flavour. Finish is quite grainy. No bitterness. Disappears in an instant. I could swear this used to have flavour.

Malty aroma backed by some decent (not noble) hop. Deep golden color with a white head that was reluctant to stay. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Not your usual corny macro lager. It has pale malt, hop, and fruit follows the inital flavors. Floral hop? The finish is lightly sweet somewhat balanced by hop. It’s as good as some light ales, better than some too. Surprisingly good lager.

The pour is the appropriate pale yellow color with a short lived, but voluminous white head. An extremely powerful skunk aroma to this. A fair amount of grass along with some lemon, yeast, and sulfur. The flavor is mostly just sweet cereal notes with a bit of rice. Quite a bit of grass, lemon, and tons of skunkiness to go along with it all.

Bottle from package store in Billings, MT. Poured clear pale color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate sweet grassy aroma. Light to medium body with a thin texture and lively carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with soft sweet finish of short duration. Worth trying once.
