Panzerfaust (375), Santiago, Chile Nov 2, 2007 Sampled at Malloco’s Oktoberfest
Pours a very deep dark brown color. Head is big, tan and rocky. It leaves a thick film.
Aroma is malty/yeasty, weird with salty hints of brine, olives, soy sauce, pickles, sauerkraut and more typical touches of licorice, smoke. I don’t know... I think it’s not bad.
Flavor is salty, woody and develops to a more sweet porter-ish flavor. There is a slight trace of infection with a lemony tang that disturbs a little. Notes of licorice, dark chocolate and truffles giving a hint of acidity.
Medium to big body, smooth. Does it have Oats? Low carbonation, creamy. Finish is long and leaves a chocolatey aftertaste with olivaceous hints. It has potential but needs development and more quality control.
almosi (279), Viña del Mar, Chile Dec 24, 2007 Has a dark brown color. A small head, of beige color. The aroma is sweet, as the defaults. The flavor is tart (I do not if is a infected beer, or it is a bad beer). davidpl (397), Santiago, Chile Nov 29, 2007 Appearance: dark brown color. Little head with beige color.
Aroma: sweet smells, toast grains, chocolate, candy and vanilla. Ripe fruits reminiscence. Some slight creamy and oat smells (not ingredients). Fresh yeasty fragrance. Citric in the last inhalation.
Flavor: sour start for infection, intensive yeasty. However, I distinguish some sweet touch from malts and reminiscences of cacao and candy. Fruitiness like blackberries, figs and ripe plums. Toasty and smoked aftertaste.
Palate: creamy and granulated texture; medium body. Light carbonation.
Infected, a notable texture.
