Good caramel flavor, quite dry, with a very stong hopping, a bit resiny and with strong fruity character (grapefruit…). A bit unprofessional, but I like hop juices. Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 8, 2008 Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Myrup. Very cloudy amber golden with a rough, off-white head. Fat, peachy hop aroma. Quite full-bodied with some burned caramel and distinct peach accents. Quite a bitter finish. A solid effort. 311008 kmweaver (2274), Nicaragua Nov 17, 2008 500mL bottle, courtesy of after4ever. Thanks, Tom! Pours a very murky, brownish-grapefruit color; off-white head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Loads of green apples, vegetal bitterness, and limes in the aroma; lots of green apple. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy green apples, mineral / citrus / floral bitterness; slightly oily and some alcohol poking through; a bit messy, if generous; catty (not just the label) and lots of stemminess. Lengthy finish: mineral bitterness, floral notes, and limey citrus; lasting bitterness and toast. after4ever (2006), Brier, Washington, USA Nov 2, 2008 500. Thanks, Thewolf! Cute cat. :-)
Murky medium amber with a dense, creamy tan head. Humongous forward sharp grapefruit and apricot nose. Delectable. Beautiful dense creamy body. Crisp and prickly carb. Bold, spicy, aggressively sharp, bitter mid-palate. Dense bitter finish. Lovely, lovely. MesandSim (4723), Highgate, Greater London, England Nov 1, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at the Harry vs Wolfman fist fight.
Dark amber with a good beige head. Lovely watermelon notes in the aroma with a bit of glue and some big orangey hops. Once in the mouth the hops are quite superb. Thick and juicy and the combination of all the different types give it excellent complexity. Plenty of body and a really good mouthfeel. The bitterness is spot on. Thick resinous hop juice all round. Lingering green EKG and Chinook give it really good length eventually giving way to some sweetish malt with just the right amount of sugary feel. The malt carries it all really well actually. Damn good beer. Round of applause René.
