Bottled, RBESG 2008. Hazy deep golden colour with weak head. Overcarbonated gusher here. The aroma and taste is as spicy as the un-oaked. THere are bread spices, such as fennel and aniseseed. It’s vaguely malty with all sorts of spices, it tastes of fennel and aniseeds.

Bottle, courtesy fonefan, May 2008. Bright orangey colour. Very unusual menthol aroma, with enormous herbal notes in the flavour. Thyme? Herbal bitterness on the palate. Another interesting beer but rather too herbal for my taste. Not entirely convinced that the various elements make for a perfect combination.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very spicy - especially lavender - too much for me. The flavor is sweet - and too spicy - especially lavender, anise, and violets, but also some flowers., leading to a dry finish.

rbesg08 grand tasting, bottled. a bit of a curiosity - light brown with some sediment, grassy/ parsley aroma, some lacquered wood and some yeast tartness. did not exactly work for me but still quite interesting

Rate beer 2008. similar aroma to regular but not as harsh in spice with less woody pine and oregano. Reminds me much of thyme and sunday roasts. Light mouthfeel and body

(Bottle) Pours amber brown. The aroma is of wood and herbs/oregano alongside notes of pine and cannabis. The flavour is light to medium hoppy with tones of pine and wood. The mouthfeel is light sour and tart. Medium bodied.

Bottled @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2008. Amber coloured. Same as it’s unoaked sibling - but only softer and more dry - and also with hints of vanilla.
