On tap. Clear dark brown with a warm reddish hue and a small beige head. Intense aroma of roasted malt and distinct elderflowers. Quite full-bodied with notes of hard roasted malts, raisins, licorice and again elderflowers. Some underlying tartness, probably deriving from the malts. Malt bitter finish with some alcohol presence. Rather unusual to add elderflower to an Imperial Stout, but it works fairly well. 070209

Pours a beautyful black with a small creamy caramel coloured head. aroma is dominated by the elderflowers and the dark chocolate and coffee creeps up behind it - slightly roasted. The flavour is also dominated by the elderflowers, fresh but then again the chocolate and coffee appears behind the elderflowers. The freshness is nice but needs a bit more balance - more coffee. has a nice palate.

Draught at the Launch. Clear dark dark mahogany brown - brown head. Burned, sweetness, white sugar, light coffee aroma, elderflowers, spicy, chocolate. Nice - but a bit wierd with the elderflowers.

Draught, 9.2% at the brewhouse. Coffee aroma, some berry. Smells a bit like grassy hops, but might be the elderflower. Almost black colour, small brown head. The flavour is quite roasted with a citric fruitiness and some grassiness in the finish. Good beer, but I think the ABV is a bit high considering the flavour.

From tap at YNWA. Pours pitch black with a small tan and creamy head. Light edlerflower fruity aroma with a nice roasted malt base and chocolate. Sweet malty at first with a pronounced elderflower herbal note following. Sweet and roasted malty flavoured afterwards. Smooth roasted finish with a nice sweetness and fruity lasting elderflower note.

Draft. A dark chestnut brown beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and a bit of elderflowers. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt and chocolate, as well as medium notes of elderflowers, leading to a dry roasted, almost burnt finish finish, lending it a bit of acidity, where the elderflowers lingers.
