0.5l bottle from Különleges Sörök Boltja. (I tasted this at the very first Főzdefeszt (back in 2011) and hated it then: it was warm, way too sweet and had some nasty metallic-medicine-like bitterness. But that was long ago in it was time to give it a chance again.) Starts with very little and disappointing head. Aroma is neutral, taste is dominantly sweet, caramel, roasted grains, a bit smoky perhaps. Some spicyness also present. There is some ale-ish character hiding here, reminds me to Newcastle Brown Ale. So, on the one hand, I have to admit this beer is much better than I remembered (or perhaps it has improved since then...) Yet, there is also some nasty medicine-like taste that remains also dominant for long. So, despite all the complexity I still dislike this beer..

This beer has a fantastic taste to it. It is smooth, creamy, mellow, with all the right notes at just the right time. Would highly suggest to anyone who wants to try some good Hungarian beer.

50cl bottle from Csak a jo sör, Budapest. Poured brown with a thin white head. Bready, yeasty aroma. Flavor has bread, yeast, caramel. Low carbonation. Long bready finish. Decent enough, but would not buy another one.

500ml bottle. Very nice, almost fruity (maybe pear?) tasted beer. There is some smoke at the end. Tight body and dark yellow - a little dead - colour. Good. Quickly disappearing, artificial Co2.

Draft from a restaurant stand at the Budapest Easter Market. Foamy white head. A hazy brown body, bright. Amber sour malt nose. Big caramel-leather amber ale body. Smooth, pretty rich. tart, dry and smooth. nice.

Slip white head atop a golden elixir. Small amount of lacing. Fruity, malty aroma. Fruity, malty flavor. A bit of peach. Sweet. Not much hops. Weird that there is this much maltiness given the ingredient claim. A little sour on the back with a slight bitterness.
