on tap at the hotel, zoigl tag 2009 and 2010. golden with a light haze and a vague head; somewhat musty aroma of soggy tea leaves and old tins of peaches; grainy and quick with a tinny bitterness; left me a little underwhelmed compared to some of the other great offerings in neuhaus

Süß-herber Antrunk, eher unauffällig. Recht mild, wenig herb, der Hopfen ist angenehm gestreut. Hellmalzig, ok, absolut nicht außergewöhnlich. 10/9/9/9//9

Tap at Hotel. Sweet barley malt aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow color with large head. Lightly sweet, strong barley malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. The lightest Zoigl I’ve tried.

(draught) pours a hazy golden colour with a creamy white head. aroma of herbal hops, with some light notes of butter, gingerbread spice and even a little smoke. flavour is the same, very light on the palate, with lots of herbal hops and a light bitter finish. medium-bodied with smooth carbonation.

Tap. Fruity minerally, herbal aroma. Hazy golden, nice offwhite lacing head. Chewy body, light nutty, slightly tropical. Nice drinking beer.

Draught at the Altnaabtaler Hof: A bit unclear, golden, stable white head, visible carbonation; light to moderate hayish-hoppy nose with a light barnyardy touch, light bodied, not watery, quite soft; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour; slightly lingering dryish hoppy-bitter finish. O.K. ......

draft at hotel waldnaab/sausewind stube, 2009 tag der kommunbrauer. dimpled mug. mostly clear light honey colored body with a silky fine-bubbled white head. frother, fresh, zesty and hoppy, smells and tastes of hearty/husky wheat and cracked cereal grains. wet and oily but a little more zest and bite than other zoigls, and has a heftier malt body. clean and snappy. pick up a little bit of soured mashed potatoes in the finish but that’s not as bad as it sounds. a wonderful zoigl - fresh, zesty, hoppy.

Tap @ Hotel Waldnaab, Neuhaus. Orange blonde, clear. Flowery earthy hopbitter flavor. Just a hint of citrus. Fairly low on aroma. Not the very best of the available zoigls, but good enough.

On tap at the Hotel Waldnaab, Neuhaus. Slightly hazy straw colour. Herbal hop aroma. Pale malts, similar to Lingl but more restrained in all respects. Dry herbal hop, firm pale malt/breadcrust. Minerally, herbal dry finish. Damn nice zoigl.

Zoigl @ our hotel in Neuhaus. The pour is in a dimpled mug. A helles, mainly clear but with enough haze to keep it interesting, a stable white head. The aroma is sweet cereal grain. The flavors are very good, solid, clean, and balanced with dry, grassy, and herbal flavors.
