shared@wethop BBQ; a lot of sweet/young Port in aroma, also very malty, with the prospect of being almost a bit cloying; better in taste: bitter chocolate diluted with Port; or chocolate mousse with a shot of Port with some licorice edges and some hop-herbs in the background. Wonderful creamy mouthfeel, dessert-like. Convincing.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Shmupi. Deep brown with small brownish head. Aroma of soy sauce, salted snack, salted fish and some prune, spicy. Quite salty flavor with some roastiness, notes of dark chocolate and coffee, moderate hoppy bitterness, a bit piney with alcohol warmth. Full-bodied. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Teku. Pitch black with medium, beige, densed head. Medicore lacing and head retention. Roasted malts and dried black fruits aroma. Medium dark chocolate aroma along with some raisins and plums in chocolate. Some toffee notes in the second raw. SOme light phenols. Taste is int the beginning semi-sweet, but from the middle it becomes more andmore bitter with some acidic coffe notes. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, finish is short and bitter. In overall nice RIS woth balance between it’s roasted and bitter character.

Klassisch in seiner Art mit gutem Schuss Kaffee, etwas Schoko und Röstaromen. Stark, vollmundig, trinkbar, etwas unausgewogen.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer has got a deep black colour with a steady head and medium to smooth body. Aroma of malt, roast, torf and coffee. Taste of chocolate, malt, barley, coffee, roast, torf and ripe dark fruits. Malty roasty finish with some dry touch.
