Ruikt drop koffie, salmiak, kruiden. Smaakt zoetig, koffie, drop, kruiden. Tikkeltje bitter. Beetje dun.

330 ml bottle from my EU Local Swap 4/2015 sender MrHangover, thanks!
Black body, with a medium, dense, creamy, moderately lacing, beige head.
Aroma of ash, liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, some caramel, slight dark fruits.
Taste follows this, with the ashy notes more in the background.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, dry, wooden, moderate ashy, with coffee, liquorice, suble alcohol warmth.

Nice one, although nothing outstanding. Quite simple, more like a normal Stout, with some smokey notes. Alcohol is well hidden though, drinks pretty smooth for the ABV. Lacks some more body in my opinion.

33cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured black with a light brown two finger head. Aromas of espresso, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, licorice, dark fruits. Tastes pretty much a continuation of the aroma with notes of raisins, whole wheat bread, nuts. Heavy on the dark roasted malts, I love this dark magical brew. A full body, creamy and sticky finish. Overall a good strong stout.

Robijnrood bier met wit schuim. Geur: gebrande mout, karamel, koffie, donkere chocolade.

Butilka: As black as ink, small off-white foamy layer; moderate roasty-ashy nose, shy traces of dried fruits and port in the background; solid dry bitter flavour with a delicate residual sweetness, medium bodied; dryish bitter lingering fruity and roasty finish. Nice brew, pretty complex…

On tap. Deep opaque black colour with a nice tan head. Roasted malts, caramel, liquorice, chocolate and oak in the aroma. Soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium bitter with notes of dates and chocolate to balance. Overall, I was expecting more complexity and a full bodied beer but it is a good beer anyway.

Small yellowish-cream head over opaque redbrown beer. Very fruity nose, red berries. Sweet chocolate with (fruit)filling, bit of leather and tobacco. Both very bitter and sweet underlying. Portflavour is difficult to discern; flavours of walnut, husks, wood, roast - quite complex. Warming up, getting a bit vinous, at least. Near astrigent, wry and dry. Well-bodied, some alcohol. I’d never associated this with portwine, but it is different, and quite likeable, if a tad severe. Good choice of brewer.
