COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Dubbel / Porter mix. Brewed at Anders until 2014. Now most likely in a (yet) unknown brewery in Germany. They are planning production in their own facility.

Pours a dark coppery brown color, topped with a hefty beige colored head, nice retention. Very mild chocolate and caramel aroma, slight dust. Taste is slightly chocolatey, medium full body, not really sweet with some spicy finish. Alcohol nicely hidden. Decent.

The beer is beautiful. The soft foam has a nice almond color. The color of the beer is a beautiful brown. It is porter to the top. Beautiful and nice. The first thing in the smell is the dark, bitter roasted barley combined with a delicious fresh summery hop aroma. A delicious combination. Very good. The taste is delicious. It is a real porter, all the way. The bitter porter taste, with the rich flavors of the roasted barley, is delicious. This delicious dark caramel coffee chocolate deliciousness is accompanied by a delicious hoppy tropical freshness. A very great beer.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of roastiness, quite strong herbal notes and bread. Flavour of roastiness, raisins, herbs, sweet bready maltiness and mild biterness. Some chocolate. Medium bodied and quite soft mouthfeel. Alcohol feels and warms. Too Belgian for my taste.

Another interesting Dutch beer company. Bottle from an Albert Heijn supermarket. Medium sized, lightly lacing, pale beige, dense head over a clear but eventually hazy, deep wine red coloured beer with purple hue, warm and attractive. Sweet and spicy bouquet of chocolate cookies, toasted bread, caramel, raisins soaked in rhum, dried banana, hazelnut paste, ruby port, cinnamon, a whiff of coffee, wooden furniture and whisky. Smooth, sweetish onset of dried plums, banana, blackcurrant and dates, finely tingling carbonation, spicy ’stings’ of alcohol already at the beginning but subtle enough not to disturb; lean caramelly malt base ensues and gradually becomes more toasted and more nutty, ending even in a roasted bitterness, lightly coffeeish, with a nice peppery and leafy hop bitterishness adding drought, and a fairly strong dosis of ’jenever’-like alcohol, warming the throat and even burning a bit. The alcohol is way too obvious in this one, should have been much better hidden in a 7.1% ABV beer, but other than that, this is a warming, gently bittersweet brew, indeed hovering somewhere between a typical sweet and caramelly dubbel and a lightly roasted porter. Enjoyed it in spite of the alcohol overtone.

Donkere chocolade bruine kleur met een volle crémekleur kraag. Ruikt fruitig, koffie, gebrand, chocolade. Smaakt bitterzoet, koffie, gebrand, fruitig. Fruitige bittere koffie afdronk.
