COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Dubbel / Porter mix. Brewed at Anders until 2014. Now most likely in a (yet) unknown brewery in Germany. They are planning production in their own facility.

Bottled bought in Den Haag. Brown color with a very fluffy tan head, keeps a nice lacing until the end. Aroma is sweet roasted malt, hints of caramel. Flavor is roasted malt and bitter. Mouthfeel is long bitterness. I really liked this beer.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Aged 2+ years. Pours deep brown with a big, frothy beige head. Soft roast in the nose, light oxidation, burnt paper, caramel. Medium sweet flavour with sugary dried, dark fruits, raisins, milk chocolate, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and smooth texture. Sweet in the finish, with more simple cocoa, dark fruits, berries, faint toffee. Not bad.

Bottle from Albert Heijn supermarket. The beer is very dark brown to black colored and has a creamy and stable head, with nice carbonation. The aroma is chocolate and coffee, but also fruitiness of dark fruits and raisins, caramel and some fresh (American) hops. The taste is malty and medium bodied and has notes of chocolate and coffee with in the end a hoppy bitterness with spices. The finish is dry and bitter which is long noticable.

Bottle 0.33l from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 19.06.2016. Taste with Ogi. Pour it brown color with small white head. Aroma some chocolate kind of spice. Taste caramel, some chocolate, malty feel, but quite flat at the end, soft carbonation, astringent. Ok not so perfect!

Decent aroma, some caramel, toffee, chocolate and fig-like sweetness (special-B?), that also dominates the taste. Notes of roasted malt but on the whole the malts seem to lean more to a dubbel than a porter. Head is brownish grey and fairly thick. Colour is very dark brown. Lots of bitterness failing to counteract the sweetnes. Doesn’t really balance well, more combo of big tastes. Decent for its style, but even though it is a local, it won’t become a favourite. Too many better brews at this flavour point.

Bottle in Amsterdam. Nice dark brown body with medium head. Nose of chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste similar of coffee and chocolate. Funky notes. Bitter in the finish.

Aroma:
Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, dried fruit, liquorice, chocolate and roasted malts.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ruby/dark brown beer with a slight/medium beige/brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, dried fruit, liquorice and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Overall; it is decent, but it got nothing going for it though. A rather simple Porter by the books.

33cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured a dark brown with a two finger tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, licorice, caramel, roasted coffee beans. Taste: pretty much a continuation of the aromas, with notes of vanilla, dates, Haagse Hopjes, some herbal notes. Softly carbonated, a light to medium body with a long bittersweet finish. A very good Porter.
