Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor Ė a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3į

Clear pale to gold. Aroma is slightly sweet of tropical fruit. Sips mostly malt and fruit with a slight hop presence to back it up. Body is light to medium light and finishes a little thin. Sweet fruit is persistent throughout. With flavors of watermelon, clementine, and slight banana. Crisp and refreshing on the palate. Alcohol presence is low and seems very Sessionable. Doesnít have the high attentuation that I expect from a kolsch and a little more than subtle fruit. Nonetheless, a very drinkable, Sessionable craft brew that is far more reach able than your typical macro.

bottle - Pours fizzy, lightly hazy yellow. It has a light fruity and grain aroma. The flavor is somewhat sweet with minimal hops and mild bitterness in the finish. Itís not crisp though. Itís light bodied and highly carbonated. Decent.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 Flaske fra roma sofiemyr. Lys gylden, noe uklar.tynn skumtopp.lite/medium karbonert. Smaker sitrus, mango, pasjonsfrukt, melon, gress. Ganske vannaktig. En fruktig lettdrikkelig og ikke minst kjedelig Ýl.

Love how this one looks and how easy it drinks. Unfiltered golden appearance that smells and tastes tropical. Passionfruit and citrus tones in an easy drinking ale. Especially good on a hot summer day.

Far too much citrus taste. If I wanted to eat limes while drinking beer, Iíd buy some limes.

A weird first taste at the sip...I can't put it into descriptive text. Almost bubble gum upfront then malt. Golden it is..good it is not . Way too sweet for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

OK, my first beer in my daughters new place. We flew into San Diego direct from the UK and then picked the hire car. 11 hour flight, 2 hour drive to Newport Beach. 12oz bottle of refreshing lager, just what I needed. Slight hop feel to the brew and it looked golden, bright and inviting. I will have another if the weather warms up. Her husband and her (my daughter) have bought in some better stuff for me though, so I shall be trying those before I revisit this. An OK beer, that sorted me out, thought it better than Longboard I had to follow anyway.

Nose is gently tropical, caramel and a little orange; itís insubstantial. Taste is of a commercial pilsner , with a tropical finish. Mouthfeel is too fizzy. Iíd heard a number of positive things about the brewer, but this is a genuinely terrible beer utterly disjointed.

Medium coarseish white head doesnít last. Clear yellow body with light carbonation. Resiny tropical fruit aroma with oily grassy notes. Dryish resiny tropical fruit taste with mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish resiny mealy aftertaste with faint fruity notes. Itís not bad at all, but a little bit too thin and watery. (0.355l bottle, from Meny StrÝmmen.)
