COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Pailhead (4842) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - AUG 30, 2014
Bottle: The aroma consists of sweet cereal notes, light lemon, citrus, faint tropical fruits, and a hint of grass. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a two finger white head that fades to a thin film. There is a decent amount of thin soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with with a quick dose of tropical fruits with just a hint of sweet cereal notes. The finish has light citrus, lemon peel, hints of grapefruit, and a touch of grass. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, this may have just hit me at the perfect time. This is a very refreshing summer beer and I’m digging this.

Aroma of crisp wheat. Slight fruity hops barely detectable. Slightly hazy deep gold with moderate white head that lingers nicely. Taste is grainy with a little bit of floral hops. A little bit of a harsh bite on the back leads to a semi-dry finish. Medium thin mouthfeel. I did not think this was too bad - perhaps a couple of bonus points given as it takes the edge off of working on a Saturday afternoon.
