Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor Ė a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3į

This is a overall nice golden ale. The aroma is actually quite nice and it looks like a great refreshing beer. It has a crisp first taste, but near the end becomes a bit too bland and tasteless. Overall, it's a refreshing light beer for a summer day.

On tap @ Darcy McGee's Kanata. Pours a clear light straw with a thin white head. Aromas of pine and light citrus (pineapple). Tastes are grainy malt and maybe a little citrus hop. Light body, medium carbonation, short finish. This beer had some promise on the aroma but the hop character is obviously for aroma and not so much taste. This is sort of a confusing beer, aroma says APA, taste says standard ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

A decent summer beer. But Iím still not a fan of the citra hop variety. The hop does have a "citrus" quality, but then also a "spruce" character to them, especially in the aroma and aftertaste which could be offensive to some people, especially the "non-hophead I hate IPA " crowd. If your a "hophead" youíll probably love this light summer brew! Overall, I do like this beer.: Iím not a hophead, but still like IPAs. It is crisp and has that seasonal flavor. I would like it more with a different hop variety of a lower alpha.

On tap at the Bier Markt (Don Mills). Pours a clear, bright golden colour with good-sized, lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, caramelly malt and some modest floral hoppiness. Flavour has some sweetness too with caramel, fruit and some floral hopping. Light bitterness in finish. Straightforward, but well made.

Bottle from Rothís. Medium golden in color. Light hoppy notes with a bit of grains. Somewhat watery up front. Minor hoppiness and a little sour grain. Fairly bland.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into a schooner glass. It poured a clear golden colour with shortlived white foam. Aroma was slight, not offensive, but not particularly fresh. Just a hint of citrusy hops in the aroma and flavour. I would not have guessed Galaxy and Citra, but I could tell it was a little something special. Weak, non-descript grainbill, mushy mouthfeel. Light body, moderate carbonation, slightly metallic aftertaste. Not great, but an okay summer refreshment if served very cold.

No aroma detected. Golden color. Light and carbonated palate. Better than the average golden ale in flavor with a good hop addition. Finishes clean.

Tried at Edmonton Craft Beerfest 2015. Golden pour with a foamy head. Excellently balanced flavours of citrus and hops blended with easy drinking malt ale flavours.
