COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear yellow pour with white head, aroma has notes of grain, biscuit, bread, hints of earth, slight husk, hints of sweet cracker. Taste is a mix of sweet grain, biscuit, earth, some grass, grainy and husky notes, slight vanilla and honey, cracker, finishing sweet. Not much going on, but decent.

Pours a golden yellow color with aroma of corn malt. A clean tasting beer with a slight metallic tickle on the tongue. A simple refreshing beer good for a hot day.

12 oz. bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours slightly hazy golden with a one finger head that wants to stick around. The aroma is strong citrusy grapefruit, tropical fruits, melon, love it. The taste has the tropical fruit taste, but it also has a grainy bland taste, why can’t the taste match that aroma. Body is fairly light, and carbonation is fairly high. Overall very good for a golden, not bad at all.

Tap@Kona Bud Brewing. Clear pale piss color with white head. Faint grainy pale malt, floral aromas. Light body. Decent lightly sweet honey biscuit flavors with subtle floral hoppage--

Plastic cup in the lot of Big Save, Hanalei, hiding from a passing cop having snapped the neck off the bottle on a bollard trying to prise it open. Bright streaming gold with a low persistent head. Enticing, slightly leafy hop nose with passion fruit hints. Light passion fruit and lychee hop; hints of nettles, dunked biscuit malts. Tasty, decidedly new wave English TPA in style...prefer it to Big Swell.

12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold under a nice-sized off-white head with good retention; leaves some lace. Nice hoppy nose for an American golden ale. It’s citrusy, tropical and catboxy like a decent APA or IPA. Taste, also, is more in line with an APA than your average golden ale. This must be a new trend, making these golden ales more hoppy. I like it. I remember the days (not so long ago) when a brewer’s golden ale was the dullest creation in their repertoire, with hops being very neglible. The most recent examples I’ve had are definitely more interesting than the old guard.

Out of the bottle from Uptown. Pours golden with a head that disappears quickly. Slightly hoppy smell, but a little off at the same time. Pretty solid taste for a cheaper beer.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a clear pale gold with a small white head. Oddly fruity nose with slightly herbal hop notes. Maybe a little pineapple and grapefruit in there. A touch of graininess too. The flavor follows the nose almost perfectly. Light in body with average carbonation. Easy drinking summer fare. Remind me a little of Summer Love.

honestly a solid middle of the road blond ale. not exciting but decent and refreshing enough to possibly be a gateway beer for megabrew swillers.

really good clean golden ale. Light bready malt slight earthy citrus flavor. Nothing over powering. All easy drinking but well made.
