2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home prior to leaving for another extended work trip. Appearance is a pale clear yellow with not much head. Aroma mostly of malt, more bready than caramel, smells OK. Taste is average, and tastes like every other golden ale out there. It’s beer, and beer is good, but it’s just an OK beer.

The big wave was not a bad golden ale, but I have had better. Enjoyed this with a pile of BBQ from Rudy's in Phoenix. It is a fun bottle and name, but don't always judge a beer by its label.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Ølhandleriet, Mathallen, enjoyed at home
Golden, thin white head that falls down to nothing almost instantly. Smells of peach and mango, some malts. Taste is moderate to medium sweet, much the same as the aroma, peach power! For me it feels more like a beer with peach syrup than a beer with hop aromas of peach. The sweetness kills of the the bitterness i’m afraid.

In one word, SUBTLE. Subtle in taste, subtle in fruitiness, and subtle on the palate.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled at the W&C Ballas open house. It poured a light golden color with a white head. The aroma was mildly hoppy with some grapefruit, pine, apricot and mango. The taste was apricot, pine with a light honey, passion fruit and some grass notes. Decent.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2013 Good for a session. Far better than the Longboard Lager. Subtle flavor and no bad-beer aftertaste. Decent.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft. Clear golden body with a frothy white head. Citrus dominates the aroma. Hints of toasted grain and canned green beans. Herbal hops and a bit of dough. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Tasted like a premium lager with citrus hops. Pleasant beer and fairly clean, but the hop, vegetable and citrus tastes aren’t working.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2013 12 oz. bottle poured to a 1/2 pint/mini Czech-pils glass showing a clear, light gold hue, with nice rising effervescence, white bubbles & cream head, and clingy waves & spots of lacing. The nose was light sweetness, soft grain/wheat, light citrus and a touch of tropical fruit as pineapple. The flavor offered moderate but fresh hop bitterness that was a little earthy, and cooperated well with a like strength of mellow malt. The bitterness lingered lightly into the finish, which was dry, crisp, and sessionably clean. A little better than light bodied due in part to lively carbonation. Refreshing!
