Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Bottle@tresbones (the "new lupolo"). Yellow, slight haze. Very tropical fresh aroma- pineapple, caramel, lime citrus. Good body for the abv. Tasty, caramel tropical flavours. Some grainyness, biscuitness, but overall pretty smooth malty, nicely fruity refreshing ale. [edit: this was a 4.4% abv version]

355ml bottle (Viisi Pennia, Helsinki) at 4.6%
Weak aroma, some simple bready malts, fruity hops. Even weaker taste - paperiness is most prominant. Watery body, but would be refreshing on a hot day. Paper in the finish too, but some ok hints of both bitter and aromatic hops. Underwhelming.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/14/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light bits of foamy lacing cling down the glass. Aromas of lemon zest, orange zest, pineapple, tangerine, floral, grass, pine, cracker, light bread, light honey, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hop notes with moderate malt presence; and solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange zest, pineapple, floral, grass, toast, bread, cracker, light honey, and floral earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pineapple, toast, bread, cracker, floral, grass, and floral earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice and pleasant flavor profile with very balanced hop/malt flavors; with a solid amount of robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a nice blond ale. Solid amount of robustness with a nice balanced hop/malt flavor profile; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
