Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

A clear golden beer with a small white head. Aroma is malty, fruity and slightly hoppy. Flavor is sweet, some light caramel notes. Slightly hoppy finish. A bit watery

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Juicy malts, relatively clean and full, with some crisp and fresh citric hoppy notes coming through in the finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle. I liked this much better than their Lager. Looks pale and light, but had a nice fruity hop nose. Medium to lively carbonation. Juicy fruit and spices, passionfruit gum?- with a short finish. Not exactly what I’d call a premium ale, but a decent drop.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly hazy gold with minimal head. Aroma of citrus and honey. Taste is light bitter. Grassy with a little grapefruit and citrus on the end. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. A little weak but enjoyable.

This is a pretty tasteless beer. It has a bit of sweetness and was very easy to drink but there was little other redeeming qualities.

Golden clear pour. Soapy head, mild retention, minimal lacing. Aroma is wonderful; fruity hops with some natural earth. Taste is initially bland. Some hops and honey shine through the somewhat watery flavor. Aroma is the best thing about it. Mouthfeel is medium-thin and sticky. Decent beer. Its actually very unique how the hops are so strong on the nose but hardly noticeable in the flavor.

Good carbonation, moderate hops and modest malts make this an enjoyable, well-balanced beer. As with all Kona beers, the artwork on the six-pack carton and label shines.

Rated on 6-20-2013. This bottled beer pours a medium sized frothy white head, no lacing, transparent body, fast rising carbonation, and a yellow hue. The Aroma is malty, some hints of fruit, pine, and spruce. The Taste is bitter, malty, lightly fruity, and some pine and spruce hops. The Palate is tingly and this is a light bodied beer. Overall, the flavors of this beer did not entice me to seek out this beer again.

Poured bright gold with a thin, bubbly head. Slight fruity aroma, but not much there. Taste is just a little bit of bread and possibly pineapple, but that may be wishful thinking. Very watery mouthfeel and not a lot of taste.
