Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Straw-colored with a thin head that quickly dissipates to a lacy head. Fairly good hop aroma. Tastes of light malt, pine needles and a hint of coconut. Light mouthfeel with high carbonation. Very dry finish, but perhaps too dry. This would be a decent beer to sip on the beach or at a backyard barbecue.

Golden yellow pour with a white head. Fruity hop aroma and so is the taste. Ok malt backbone. An average beer.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours medium gold with a transient white head. Aroma is quite fruity - perhaps even a hint of resin. Near med body. It’s lightly bready, and there is an initial decent fruit hop flavor - but it sort of drops off and gets overly bready. Despite that it finishes towards dry, and the hop never really goes away. It’s just way too light - but if it were amped up it might be fabulous.

Bright, clear medium gold. The label isn’t as good as some of the other Konas. Loose, sparse white head. Lightly sweet, malty aroma. Tangy, lightly sweet fruit on the front along with a light mineral/briney cast. Tea flavors. Light west coast hops. Medium to slightly heavy mouth, lemony/kumquat finish. Picked up a tick from Walmart!

Terminus (3231) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle-purchased at Guacamole’s in Las Cruces, Jan 2013-pours lightly hazy golden yellow with a small fizzy white head. nose is fairly hoppy-musty, some german notes in there with some grainy cereal qualities. flavors are a splash of hops to start followed by fairly clean grainy notes. im sure this was a bit better when fresh however, there are way better beers of this style (see Victory summer love). overall, decent, yet somewhat boring.

Pours a clear, thin golden with a minimal white head. I was impressed with the aroma. It is very citrus and fruity. Lots of peaches especially, with orange, pineapple, and floral hops. The taste really sours unfortunately. It retains a bit of the strong peach impressions, but is actually more bland. Maybe somewhat grainy, but the best description is that it is almost lacking any taste. Thin, watery body. This really began with much promise from my first impression, but turned out to be a disappointment.

12 oz. bottle. Bright golden pour. Aroma of big citrus hops and milder pine hops, some mild sweet golden malts. Flavor is bitter, mild fruity sweetness. This is good for the style. Smooth, easy drinking. Slick bodied. Easy to drink. Finishes with a big citrus hop note. Nice, albeit average, golden ale.

Bottle in Vail, courtesy of Brian Nielsen. Thanks Bri for all the Miller Lites. Pours a bit hazy, golden orange appearance with an off white head. Somewhat spicy, resiny hoppy, fresh, pineapple, tropical fruity aroma. Somewhat piney, a bit resiny hoppy, grapefruity, pineapple, slightly watery flavor. Not all that bad. Kind of surprised by the freshness of the hops.

Surprisingly refreshing. This beer has a very clear, bright-gold appearance. The taste has a citrusy flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
