Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Plenty of honey from the malt and a light citrus, pine taste from the hops. Golden ale is not normally my thing but this was surprisingly good. Nice and light. Good for a summer session.

Bottle. Smells fruity and sweet. Pours translucent gold with no head. Taste follows the smell with a mild citrus aftertaste. Decent summer brew.

From notes: Poured hazy golden amber with a 1-finger white head. Aroma is bright and citrusy. Body is light with a slight fizziness and a brief, lightly dry finish. Flavor is lemony with a touch of yeast underneath.

Not bad swillin brew. Very grapefruity taste and fruit aroma. Like the islands...Mango guava maybe a little pineapple. Hops are not too strong. Hardly any malt . A bit watery but not bad on a hot day working in the yard type stuff.

4.4% ABV bottle from Glug, Newcastle. This is a pale golden beer with sweet, slight tropical fruity flavours and a light toffee and honey finish.

Aroma - passion fruit and citrus notes from Galaxy and Citra hops. Low malt notes due to pungent hops used. Color - deep gold and slight orange hues. Flavor - very crips and clean. Finishes with citrus and passion fruit notes. Malt comes through to balance the intense hops flavors. Very good Mouthfeel - highly carbonated with thin head that persists lacing down the glass. Oils from hops create a slight slick. Overall Impression - a very good golden ale. Enjoy passion fruit and citrus notes from hops. Adds great character for such a light beer. Definitely reminds me of Hawaii. One of my favorite beers that Kona brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. 4.4%. 15/June/2014 say the importer. (K-Citymarket) Tampere, Finland.
Cloudy pale yellow golden colour with a tiny white head. Exotic fruits, sweetness and candies in the aroma. The flavour is quite subtle fruity hops, sweetness and some maltiness. Very soft carbonation. Watery.
