COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Pours a clear golden with minimal head and modest lacing . Aroma of toasted malt subtle tropical fruit light bodied with crisp mouthfeel. Mildly sweet, no bitterness. No real hop presence. I think I know what they are going for in this and it’s good. for what they want. Like!

12 ounce bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head that fades. Taste is of grass, fruit, citrus, hops, pine, honey and malt. Similar, grassy aroma. Has a lighter body with a clean finish. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Bif (1637) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 20, 2013
Pours a light golden color with a decent head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma is on the mild side with a bit of citrus, malt sweetness, grassy with a hint of tropical fruit. Taste follows with citrus, some malt sweetness, tropical fruit and just a touch of honey. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Light body, smooth with just enough honey to give it a bit of flair without making it too sweet. Pleasant beer to relax with on a hot Summer day.

Bottle poured a slightly hazy yellow hue w/ a small fizzy quickly diminishing white head and minimal lacing. Medium aromas of orange, pineapple, and hay. Initial flavor is a light sweet w/ a light bitter finish. Tastes are orange and grapefruit citrus, grass, and cereal. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonation.

Fruity, light bread aroma. Kind of a weird earthy smell... Nice mango/orange fruity flavor, and light grainy sweet flavor. Fruit lingers in aftertaste.

Big wave pours an apple juice amber hazy with almost no head. the Nose is just a slight hint of spruce hops. taste is faint hops on the finish. Prior to that it is a bit of metallic and maybe a bit of peach. Body is indistinct. Overall a bit more than I was expecting for this beer, as i was expecting a bud clone. Though, this beer falls far short of impressive.

wxman (1535) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Pours a clear golden with a fairly big white head. However, because the bead of the bubbles is large, the head begins to dissipate rather quickly. Aroma is mown grass that has mulched and rotted just a tad. Taste is grassy and malty with just a bit of funk related to the oddness of the aroma. Refreshing enough, but not a quality summer ale.

When poured there was not much head. Aroma of the beer smells good. I did not detect much flavor while I was drinking however I would drink it if it were on tap
