COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Pineapple aroma with floral/hoppy notes. Very little head, no lacing. Golden color. Strong pineapple/citrus start with hoppy finish, slightly bitter after taste. Decent summertime offering.

Fantastic beer from kona brewing. Has a little citrus flavors with a lighter ale taste. Goes good with burgers and chicken dishes!

Draft. Pale orange. Too much carbonation. Wheat, peach, grains, apricot. Pretty good for summer. Refreshing. This would be better with more body to it.

Bottle brought home from Hawaii by Rachel. Pours a slightly cloudy pale gold colour with a white head. Aroma of grain, grass and tropical fruit. Mild bitterness with citrus notes. Light body, rather too highly carbonated for my liking.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2015 12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount into a wine glass at home. Golden and light hazy appearance with a white head and sticky lacing. Mild aroma of herbs, floral notes, tropical fruits, pale malts, light hops and a touch of caramel/toffee. Similar flavor, lightly fruity, juicy, mildly bitter and lightly sweet. Crisp, light bodied and easy to drink. Pretty clean and refreshing. 736313. 3.2. Update: 6-pack of bottles from Alpine Liquors in Pine Junction. Clear gold appearance with a white head and patchy lacing. Aroma of toasted grain, citrus hops, light resin and light grass. Similar flavor, toasty, grassy, lightly fruity and lightly hoppy. A straightforward easy drinker overall. Pairing: Phish - Waves > Jam, from 08/02/2003, Loring Commerce Center, Limestone, ME

Pours a hazy light yellow, with barely any head at all. Aromas are light, and there’s a tropical fruit aroma reminiscent of Hawaiian punch, passion fruit and apricots. There’s also hints of toasted bread and a slight touch of roasted nuts to the finish. The taste is not particularily sweet, and has a decent amount of bitter to it, the finish is pleasantly dry. The aftertaste is moderately long, and is where the hop aromas really shine. The mouthfeel is light and sparkly, which goes well with this kind of beer. Pretty good.

Sample bottle, mainland brewed. Golden color, with a little amber in the center, and a sudsy head. Malty nose is a bit dry for a blond ale. Taste is of a beer that has fermented out just a little bit more, so it’s not as sweet as too many light ales are. This bottle has sat around for a while, but it’s held up nicely, and retains a nice prickly mouthful of bubbles.

So-so beer. One of those ales with a cardboardy lager finish. But on tap at the flagler beach pier it seemed pretty good--can’t go wrong with the location I guess.

Bottle. Pours clear dirty gold with white head. Nose/taste of bread, lemon and malt. Watery thinnish body.
