Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel

Bottle. Pours honey-gold with a short, quick-dissipating head. Mild floral and herbal nose. Some hops bitterness followed by a citric sweetness -- definite pineapple notes. Drinkable.

12 ounce bottle - $1.39 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Bottling Date: MAR 13 13.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, pale yellow body with a smallish, thin layer of white suds.

Smell: Grainy-scented nose edged with waterlogged biscuits and the faintest, far-off hint of honey. A little flower petal, a little sweaty citrus rind.

Taste: Washed out biscuit-toned malts with a thin, thin honeyed veneer to it. Some husky, grainy astringency noted. Modest floral, faintly citrusy hops with a bit of bitterness aided by the graininess and crisp carbonation. Dry, bitterish, crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: What the hell is going on here?

Had on tap at comedy sportz. Golden pour with frothy head. Good citrus smell and taste. For a lighter beer it is good stuff

Aroma is a little alarming, that of hoppy body oder with lemon deodorant. Some sizzle, acceptable. Yes that first olfactory of yer mates mild BO comes thru on every swig, weird and even more than most ipa. Taste does have some lemon in there, a little like oily furniture polish. What else can be said? Same with finish.Perhaps was expecting something a little more refershing for a golden ale. Probably more like a medium mild apa.

Yellow golden color... Aroma is crisp, citrus fruits.... Flavor is light and crisp, refreshing citrus fruitiness... No real hop notes, but extremely nice for a hot Waikiki day... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, march 12th 2013 at Aku Aku Tiki bar. Light golden body crowned by a little white head. Light aroma of hops and grain, dusty with a bit oxidation. Taste of german hops and salt, watery and thin, grainy aftertaste.

355ml bottle from The Beer Cellar. Grapefruit, lemon and passionfruit aroma . Cloudy amber colour that clears, modest head. Lightly bitter with a long finish.

12 oz bottle packaged 2.26.13. Pours a beautiful, bright golden with a small white head. Aroma is lightly fruity, subtle hops, and movie theater popcorn butter. Less diacetyl in the flavor, with more of the bready maltiness and fruity hops coming through. Light and crisp, but a little flawed.
