Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

DraftDodger (933) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 6, 2016
Copenhagen 6/5 2016. 35,5 cl (12 oz) bottle from Meny. Drawing of Outrigger canoe escaping giant wave on the label. Pours clear golden yellow with white head. Settles as paper thin layer of foam. Aroma is sweet with some exotic fruit. A little mango and peach. Some arm sweat as well. Medium carbonation and watery palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by light bitterness in the aftertaste. Not terrible but not terrible exciting either. To be honest the label is the best thing about this beer.

Tap. Light cereal for the malt, light to moderate pine for the hops, with notes of pepper and paper. Head is large, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy light amber. Flavor start slightly acidic and finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation. A nice Blond Ale with a decent hop presence.

Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - golden with a nice fluffy head. Nose - pine, orange and apricot. Taste - luscious oranges and apricots. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - very enjoyable. I’d classify this as an American Pale Ale in style.

Bottle at the Greyfriar, Reading. Nice gold colour but visibly thin and fizzy.Butter and caramel up front but generally has more than a hint of mass market lager about it. Some sweetcorn, a hint of citrus, a touch of grass, but predominantly bland and fizzy. Drinkable but poor.
