COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor Ė a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3į

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Enjoyed a bottle on Lanai. Golden color. Mild hop and malt aroma. Flavor is similar with nice mild bitterness. Great lunch beer with a burger but forgetable.

Had the chance to visit the brewery on the big island a couple years ago and loved their selection of beers! Two good things came of this discovery, one being that the whole island serves it so i was able to indulge with most meals and two being now that I know about Kona Brew Iím able to spot it out in stores, purchase it, and share it with friends who havenít been to hawaii...yet!

Bottle in Honolulu. Solid take on the genre, let down by a slightly chemical first hit, but a pretty solid fruity palate with a lasting sweetness in the finish.

Kona Brewing Company--Pacific Golden Ale--2000 12 oz. Bottle. 5.00% ABV. (4.25 / 5.0) Golden Ale--Creamy white head leaves rich lace. Light sediment in bottle. Slightly hazy light golden color. Rich floral sweet fruit front. Touch of caramel nutty yeast in sweet rich body. Balanced clean hop end. Great. Sampled 1/8/2001.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden beer with a weak offwhite head. The aroma is weak with sweetness and caramel. The flavor is malt and sweetness. The palate is dry. Overall a good beer.

Had this beer as a sample when I toured their brewery. Its a pretty basic blonde ale. Has a sweet somewhat fruity taste and light on the hops. Good beer if you wanna knock down a few on a nice hot afternoon in Hawaii!!!

Rich gold with decent head. Hawaii does golden ales right. Simcoe-passionfruit tinged hop nose with similar qualities in the quenching body. A refreshing, flavorful, nicely executed golden ale.

12 ounce bottle, a buddy brought some island brews back for me on a recent trip to Hawaii. Served in a Sam Adams BL glass, the beer pours a hazy light gold color with about a half inch white head which went away quickly. Lacing is average. The aroma is light, it smells like bready malt, honey, and a bit of fruit. The taste is exactly the same as the aroma, I can taste the bit of fruitiness in this beer but I canít figure out exactly what kind of fruit it is. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it seems a bit slick with decent carbonation. Itís still light, but had more substance than I expected. Drinkability is decent, itís not hard to drink at all. Not a bad brew, but itís not my favorite of the Kona beers Iíve tried.
