Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel

So good the whole 12 pack was gone before I could get the new dishwasher installed. Unimportantly its golden with a tiny ring head. Musty funky aroma. Pure, mild lager like aroma of weak malt and hops and flavor. But the body is fill and that’s what makes it so good. Mild flavor and a medium-full body. Yum.

Bottle: light golden with medium-sized white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy with some grapefruit, pine, apricot and mango. flavor is apricot and pine hoppy with a light honey, passion fruit and some grass notes. Palate is rather thin with a mild sweetness throughout. Overall not bad in flavor, just a bit thin in flavor and on the palate for me.

Not a great golden ale, the flavor is really thin, reedy, and sweet. Not the best representation of this style.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a small fizzy white heavy that falls to a small wispy film. The nose is pretty bright and clean with some nice floral hops and a bit of bready malt. The flavor I pretty clean and crisp as well. This is probably the best Kona beer I’ve had. Nice light floral hoppiness with a touch of citrus. Finishes clean and begs you to take another gulp. Light bodied but not watery in the slightest. Very nice beer.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear yellow pour with white head, aroma has notes of grain, biscuit, bread, hints of earth, slight husk, hints of sweet cracker. Taste is a mix of sweet grain, biscuit, earth, some grass, grainy and husky notes, slight vanilla and honey, cracker, finishing sweet. Not much going on, but decent.
