Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel

Good carbonation, moderate hops and modest malts make this an enjoyable, well-balanced beer. As with all Kona beers, the artwork on the six-pack carton and label shines.

Rated on 6-20-2013. This bottled beer pours a medium sized frothy white head, no lacing, transparent body, fast rising carbonation, and a yellow hue. The Aroma is malty, some hints of fruit, pine, and spruce. The Taste is bitter, malty, lightly fruity, and some pine and spruce hops. The Palate is tingly and this is a light bodied beer. Overall, the flavors of this beer did not entice me to seek out this beer again.

Poured bright gold with a thin, bubbly head. Slight fruity aroma, but not much there. Taste is just a little bit of bread and possibly pineapple, but that may be wishful thinking. Very watery mouthfeel and not a lot of taste.

Pours a clear golden with minimal head and modest lacing . Aroma of toasted malt subtle tropical fruit light bodied with crisp mouthfeel. Mildly sweet, no bitterness. No real hop presence. I think I know what they are going for in this and it’s good. for what they want. Like!

12 ounce bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head that fades. Taste is of grass, fruit, citrus, hops, pine, honey and malt. Similar, grassy aroma. Has a lighter body with a clean finish. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Pours a light golden color with a decent head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma is on the mild side with a bit of citrus, malt sweetness, grassy with a hint of tropical fruit. Taste follows with citrus, some malt sweetness, tropical fruit and just a touch of honey. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Light body, smooth with just enough honey to give it a bit of flair without making it too sweet. Pleasant beer to relax with on a hot Summer day.
