COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

This golden ale is underrated! Excellent palate, flavorful, with citrus hints in the aftertaste. I would say it's the best coming out from Hawaii. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The head is ok, the body golden. It smells sweet, fruity, bit flowery. The taste is fruity, hoppy, little bitter. Not that special but nice refreshing, Probably awesome at an Hawaii Beach with Hawaiian Sun!

The palate is medium-bodied, a little on the light side for an ale with a tingling carbonation. A sweetness is the initial impression on the taste buds; it’s sugary, toffee-like and fruity, pretty full and well-defined, while there’s also a little graininess mid-palate. It does seem as though things are about to get a little too sweet when a surprising dryness hits the back of the palate. The dryness is pretty impressive in the finish, a little bitter, a little citric, but not overwhelmingly so. The sweetness does linger a little biscuity into the aftertaste, while there’s also a slight reminder of the dryness.

Brew is a little malty and sweet. Pours your everyday golden hue. Easier to drink than most ales as it not so heavy.

Mild and well-balanced. Golden appearance with a frothy head. On the sweet side, mostly tropical fruit.

Goldene Farbe, wenig weißer Schaum. Geruch leicht nach tropischen Früchten, ansonsten mild malzig, hopfig. Geschmack fruchtig malzig, exotischen Früchte, mild, süffig.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a yellow color with a nice white head. The aroma has some lemony, floral notes with some bread and light caramel. The flavor is pretty bland and watery. Not much malt or hop character. Non-offensive, slightly bready and spritzy in the mouth. Meh.

Had a bit more expectations about that one as it began quite hoppy and fruity with some big citrus in the back. The taste was more boring than expected with some straw, bit of leaves and earthy background. Starting off well, finishing low - there are better ones out there.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer pours out in a deep golden colour with steady low head and medium body. Aroma of hops and mild fruits. Taste of mild hops, malt, bread, herbs and pine. Hints of spices and mild fruits. Easy drinkable, yet nothing special.
