Our brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavor – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and our special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. 10.3°

Malts: Pale (Premium 2-Row), Caramel
Hops: Galaxy, Citra

Golden clear pour. Soapy head, mild retention, minimal lacing. Aroma is wonderful; fruity hops with some natural earth. Taste is initially bland. Some hops and honey shine through the somewhat watery flavor. Aroma is the best thing about it. Mouthfeel is medium-thin and sticky. Decent beer. Its actually very unique how the hops are so strong on the nose but hardly noticeable in the flavor.

Disappointing. Golden yellow, thin head. Very little taste or texture to it. Kona make some really good brews, and compared to their "entry level" lager Longboard, this really doesn’t do much at all for me.

Bottle. Pours hazy honey yellow with small white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and hints of spruce and pineapple. Taste is light to medium sweet, medium bitter and light acidic. Body is light oily with sparking carbonation. Finish is long and mostly bitter with notes of malt, sugar, caramel, lemon, pineapple, pink grapefruit and hints of fresh point wood.

Bottle from the exceptional Whole Foods Cheltenham. What I would call an APA. Deserves better than the average score on here. Hoppy, yet light and drinkable. American style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, bb 02.07.2016. Clear golden beer with a minimal white head. Weak grainy and grassy aroma. Stingy metallic taste, malts, grain. Fairly high carbonation. Surprisingly bad. An imported craft beer ale, that is worse than the macro lager from the supermarket around the corner... next one, please.

Light amber pour. Flavir is a good mix of citrus, light grain, and a slightly sweet, almost mango note.

Bottle. Light, crisp and drinkable. High sweetness, low bitterness. No faults, just edgeless.

12 fl.oz. bottle BBE: 13 Aug 15. Medium chill (approx. 10 degrees). Pours an amber body with medium haze, and a minimal ring atop. Low intensity aroma of caramelized onion and earthiness. On the tongue, a high-medium malty sweetness gives a very wort-like taste. Light-medium bodied with an abrasive texture, yet medium-low carbonation, a light bitterness eventually comes through in the finish. Clearly past its best, as the best before indicates, it’s not really fair to review this bottle. However, it’s always good to be reminded of the faults that beers can develop.
