COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Wave is a light golden ale with a subtle fruitiness and delicate hop aroma. A smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The lightly roasted honey malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and also gives a slight sweetness that is balanced out by our special blend of hops.

Aromas of tropical fruit and honey. Hazy yellow-orange with a mostly fading, white head. Dry, lightly floral, mildly fruity, and with subtle honey flavors. Light and refreshing, and finishes very clean.

Nice golden color. Clear and fair head retention. Nice malty aroma with some sweet fruit notes. Light floral notes and. Lightly balanced malt and hops flavors. Does not really stand out but is still a lot better than the yellow domestic lagers. Easy drinking beginner ale. Great before you step over to the malty side of Dopple bocks.

Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Clear golden body, small white head. Nose is peachy rosewater tones with hints of soap, pine and herbs. Quite nice, actually. Taste is grainy malts, floral tones and hints of peaches. Mellow, nice and refreshing. Medium to light body, medium carbonation. Refreshing golden ale meets APA? Yes, it works.

0.355l bottle. This is a near-clear golden one with a small quickly side sticking and islandy off-white top. The aroma is not really all that much. I’m always hoping for a lovely tropical aroma in all beers coming from tropical places, but quite often I’m disappointed. Some sweetness with traces of something copper metallic and some floral hints. Not horrible, but just not all that good either. It has a soft carbonation level and the mouthfeel is thin, almost watery. It’s relatively easy to drink this. Some malty flavors, not directly sweet, but it has a good amount of malty sweetness. Biscuits and floral flavors. Nothing out of the ordinary, but still absolutely OK. 20.04.2013

Well I full expected to dislike this but it was a refreshing surprise. The nose was all grapefruit hop, very fruity, with some lime as well as nearly a tropical character. While the hop flavors were muted, and the malt base was blandish, it was balanced and had just enough gravity to stop short of being thin, instead it was a fairly nice and light drinkable beer with a pleasing hop nose.

On tap, funky citrus sweet and musky nose. Some of the same in the taste. Sweet and malty. Just not very good I’m afraid.
