Had the chance to visit the brewery on the big island a couple years ago and loved their selection of beers! Two good things came of this discovery, one being that the whole island serves it so i was able to indulge with most meals and two being now that I know about Kona Brew I’m able to spot it out in stores, purchase it, and share it with friends who haven’t been to hawaii...yet!

I tasted this amazing beer at a food tasting event in Newport CA and I was hooked to the flavor, the taste, the aroma and the tropical finish. I was impressed and no wonder why the stores keep refilling their shelves.

Surprisingly refreshing. This beer has a very clear, bright-gold appearance. The taste has a citrusy flavor.

Had this on draft in Hawaii at our hotel and at the Kona Brewery(which is a fantastic place by the way with terrific food). I was hoping I’d be able to find it in Colorado, but no luck. I’m surprised by how low everybody is reviewing this beer.

12oz Bottle. I got a six pack of this while visiting Plano Texas. I hadn’t had any beer from our beautiful island state but i will probably be giving the other beers this brewery has to offer. the Big Wave is fruity in aroma and has a pleasant aftertaste. I say give it a shot if you like this style of brew. This is a very refreshing little beverage.

This good looking golden beer tastes amazing. It has a good ale flavor with a subtle honey taste. I really like this beer and have had it at the brewery where it is even better than in the bottle.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thomas15 (521) - USA - FEB 21, 2013
Aroma is very nice juicy citrus, orange, tangerine, peach. The color of a dark piss with minaml head. Tasty light citrus flavor with some malt grassy ness. This exceptionally refreshing, light yet flavorful... Would have never guessed.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Blairgus (1753) - California, USA - OCT 20, 2012
20 oct 2012, bottle. Yellow, clear, some slow steady bubbles. Nose is nice, bitter grapefruit rind and juice. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Slightly sweet malt, mainly just watered down grapefruit rind. Watered down isn't criticism. It just isn't a faint grapefruit rind, more of watered down. Hard to describe but I like it.
