Black Sand Porter is a robust, full bodied porter with pronounced bittersweet chocolate flavor and aroma from the diverse variety of malt used to brew this beer. The hops balance the the maltiness of this robust and roasty ale.

Chocolate, and a bit of coffee on the nose. Nice sweetness up front, quickly balanced with a slightly dry bitterness. Medium mouth feel. Surprisingly relevant and tasty in a tropical environment. Solid.

Much drier that the Pipeline Porter. Plenty of roasted malts provide an ashy flavor and a dry finish. Needs a little sweetness for balance.

Dark pour with a thin but creamy head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. I wish they were already canning this on the island.

From a draft pour at the brewpub in Kailua Kona, Big Island of Hawaii. Came in the glass black with a light tan head. Nose of roasted malts with chocolate and coffee. Medium body and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is big on chocolate and the coffee follows into a nice bitterness. Very nice.

"very roasted, almost like a dry stout. unfortunately we had this as a taster right before Pipeline (w/Kona coffee)...that one is so much richer that this one seemed boring in comparison. solid effort, though, if it were to stand on it’s own."
